Kim Kardashian Finally Announces Who She’s Voting For In The Election

Well, it’s finally out and official. Kim Kardashian West recently said in an interview that she was still “on the fence” about who to vote for in this year’s election. Kim has finally announced via her official app who she will be voting for in this year’s election, as reported by Motto. Tough luck, Donald!

“At first I thought, ‘Oh my god, I’m so Hillary,’ but I had a long political call with Caitlyn last night about why she’s voting Trump. I’m on the fence.”

Kim has announced that she will be voting for the first female presidential candidate, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Following the release of her cover interview for Wonderland, where she said she was “on the fence,” Kim wrote in her official app how she was finally able to make her decision.

“A ‘quote’ of mine was released yesterday causing my phone to blow up by friends, family and even both candidates camps, so I want to explain the context in which I said I was ‘on the fence’ about my vote.”

Kim comments on how she had initially considered not voting but had later changed her decision because she didn’t want her voice to go unheard.

“There was a point when I wasn’t 100% sure I was even going to vote in this election; I didn’t want to vote blindly. But I also thought about how not voting would mean that I wasn’t making my voice heard, so I decided to talk to my closest friends and family who I love and trust, to have an open conversation about politics.”

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star explains how she reached her decision.

“I believe we owe it to ourselves, and to each other, to ask questions. To do our research so that we vote for the candidate who represents our own beliefs. We should start at a place of openness, receptiveness and honesty, and we should talk to those we love, trust and respect.”

Kim says that Caitlyn Jenner had a huge role in helping her reach her decision.

“I had a long conversation with Caitlyn, who has always been open about her political views, and she encouraged me to do my research before making my decision and then vote for the candidate whose policies aligned with the things that matter most to me. And so that’s what I did. I thought about the things that are so important to me that they outweigh everything else, such as gun control and protecting women’s rights to safe and legal abortion.”

It is at this point that the 35-year old officially announces her endorsement of Hillary.

“I found that without a doubt, I stand with Hillary. I’m with her.”

Kim then clarified what exactly had persuaded her to vote for Hillary. She says that she believes Hillary to be the best choice & the most qualified person to represent America. She further stated that she would be voting for Hillary this year not only for herself, but for the future of her children. Her statement then takes a bit of a diplomatic turn as she ends up pointing out that regardless of who wins — Trump or Hillary — the next President of the United States will do a good job in making America “a safer and stronger place” for every America. She ends her statement by acknowledging the freedom she had as an American to make this decision.

There had been hints before this that the reality TV star would be voting for Hillary. For instance, back in August of 2015, she had posted a selfie with the Democratic nominee on her Instagram account (which had 41.7 million followers at the time). This had people thinking that she would be endorsing Hillary. But it took Kim more than a year to make it official as she now has following the release of this statement.
