Ryan Fitzpatrick Memes Flood Twitter After He Throws Six Interceptions In Jets Loss To Chiefs
It was an interception party and Ryan Fitzpatrick was the guest of honor.
The New York Jets fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 24-3 in Arrowhead Stadium. But what made it even more significant was the whopping eight turnovers committed by the New York Jets en route to the loss.
As reported by NBC Sports, the Chiefs took advantage of three early turnovers by the Jets in the first half, including one by Ryan Fitzpatrick in the red zone. The pick in question was a pick thrown by Fitzpatrick that Marcus Peters made an acrobatic catch on. It would be the first of two for Peters but certainly not the last for Kansas City.

Bilal Powell did not help matters with a controversial fumble in the second quarter. Stripped of the ball as he landed, Jets coach Todd Bowles wisely challenged the ruling on the field. Unfortunately, the refs did not see enough evidence to overturn the call and the Chiefs capitalized on the subsequent drive.
The second turnover was on the ensuing kick-off when Jalin Marshall fumbled right into the Chiefs hands as Demetrius Harris ran it back for the touchdown, as reported by NJ. The Chiefs went up 17-3 and looked to have the game well in hand.
And then began the interception brigade by Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Twice in the red zone Fitzpatrick threw momentum-crushing turnovers. One was off a bad bounce off Enunwa’s shoulder. But another, to Marcus Peters, was just a bad throw.

From there, the game really got out of hand, with Fitzpatrick throwing errant interceptions just trying to make plays and will the Jets back into it.
“You can say whatever you want about me, write whatever you want, I just want to be out there fighting,” Fitzpatrick said in the post-game news conference.
But as they piled up, it just became laughable as Ryan threw the most interceptions in a game since Peyton Manning in 2007 as reported by Darryl Slater, Jets beat writer for NJ Advance posted via Twitter.

The Jets had come into the game riding a positive wave following their win over Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills – Fitzpatrick in particular. His final stats for the game were 24/34, 374 yards, and a touchdown, possibly his best as a professional let alone with the Jets. But that was not the case this week.
As pointed out by Rich Cimini of ESPN, the game by Fitzpatrick against the Bills may have just been a fluke, starting with who they lined up against.
“Fitzpatrick and his wide receivers were brilliant last week against the Buffalo, but this time they faced a defense that actually… you know, covered them.”
With a difficult schedule ahead, including a match-up with Seattle next week, the Jets, and Ryan Fitzpatrick better figure it out fast.
