Selena Gomez Breaks The Internet, Involved In Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Split?
Selena Gomez has officially broken the internet again. Although she’s away seeking treatment for Lupus, the singer has reached a new high on Instagram. According to a new report via Celeb Mix, Selena has reached 100 million Instagram followers.
Selena Gomez’s Instagram hasn’t slowed down since she has taken a hiatus in the middle of her Revival World Tour. She has become the most followed person on the social media app ever since she joined back in 2013. Gomez’s career hit a new high with the 2015 release of her debut solo album, Revival, which debuted at No. 1. Gomez has wanted to show fans a sexier and sultrier side to herself apart from the Disney girl she became known as.
Gomez has not been updating her Instagram since Aug. 15 since she’s taking some time off due to her ongoing battle with the autoimmune disease. She had to cancel upcoming tour dates so that she can become her healthiest and strongest again. Despite being away from Instagram for well over a month, Gomez’s fans have been stalking and liking every post. And, people are still interested in following her and are looking forward to her coming back.
Not only is Gomez the most-followed person on Instagram, but she has the most-liked photo, reports Elite Daily. The 24-year-old is seen sipping out of a Coca-Cola bottle in a hot red halter. Gomez simply captioned the photo “when your lyrics are on the bottle #ad.” That photo alone racked up 5.6 million likes, which is a good thing for both Gomez and her Coca-Cola campaign.
The “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer has been breaking the internet for other news. Somehow, Gomez has been dragged into Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce, reports the Daily News. Back in January, Gomez shared a photo of herself in deep conversation with her The Big Short co-star along with the innocent caption, “just discussing #TheBigShort.” Gomez and Pitt, 52, reportedly got close at a Golden Globes after-party.
At that time, Gomez revealed that she finds the actor attractive, saying, “I’m not going to lie. It’s nice to look at all of the hot guys I admire. I’m trying to find Ryan Gosling and Brad Pitt right now!”
Gomez and Pitt first met at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards. She recalled the time they met in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres.
“Yeah, so I was in my dressing room and I had just finished performing. They knocked on my door and they said Brad Pitt would like to come in and I was like, ‘He can come in.’ I was trying to play cool and be really nice. As soon as he walked out I ran and I hide under the craft service table for like two minutes because I couldn’t believe it was happening.”
Rumors are circulating that the photo was not received well by Pitt’s wife of two years.
“Angie blew a gasket when she saw Selena’s Instagram, and heard through friends about how Brad and Selena flirted so shamelessly. Now Selena is bragging to everyone that Brad is gung ho to make another movie with her. Selena is going around jokingly calling Brad ‘my future husband’, and Angie is obviously none too pleased.”
Jolie has demanded Pitt not to interact or work with the young starlet again. It should also be noted that Gomez was accused of being the other woman in Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship after a photo of her snuggling with the actor went viral on social media. Both Gomez and Perry have since denied those accusations.
“Angie warned Brad to cut all ties with Selena, and she’s forbidding him from working with her again,” the source added.
Back in February, Hollywood Life reported that Jolie was not too happy about Pitt and Gomez’s closeness at the Golden Globes. The celebrity gossip blog originally reported that the couple’s marriage was already falling apart at the seams, and this was just another blow to their marriage.
“All the rumors about Brad and Selena made [Angie] insane with jealousy,” an insider revealed.
Angelina Jolie shocked Hollywood and the world when she filed for divorce on Monday, Sept. 19. The divorce papers reveal that Jolie wants full custody of their six children after she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their divorce.
Although Gomez is trying to rest and recover, she’s still finding herself in the middle of some crazy rumors. On the flip side, she’s still the queen of Instagram.
