Jacqueline Laurita Speaks Out On Teresa Giudice’s Comments About Autism

Jacqueline Laurita has been very open and honest about her son, Nicholas, and his autism diagnosis. When she was filming The Real Housewives of New Jersey years ago, she opened up about how he had stopped talking and was no longer saying “I love you” to her. She just wanted him to get better, and she left The Real Housewives of New Jersey to focus on his recovery. She was clearly struggling to deal with the emotions, and his treatments were costly for the family. As Jacqueline revealed on the show this season, she never anticipated how much money it would cost for a child to get special care for autism.

According to a new Bravo report, Jacqueline Laurita is now opening up about her feelings after she told Teresa Giudice about Nicholas’ progression. While Teresa knew that Nicholas was dealing with autism, she probably had no idea about how he was doing since they hadn’t talked at all in a few years.

During Sunday’s episode of the show, Giudice visited Jacqueline Laurita at her home and brought Milania with her. They wanted to see how Nicholas would interact with another child and preferably someone who he remembered. During this visit, Giudice made some comments about autism, which may have been wrong. Teresa may be under the impression that Nicholas will grow out of autism.

“Although all of Teresa’s kids were all so kind, patient and understanding with Nick, Milania, especially, blew my mind. She was such a little mommy to Nick. She took him right under her wing. I think she would make an amazing teacher one day. She was amazing with Nick. It brought tears to my eyes. It’s a side of Milania that I’ve always seen, but maybe you, as viewers, have not. She really does have a huge heart,” Jacqueline Laurita explains in her blog about the visit, according to Bravo.

Laurita and her husband, Chris Laurita, don’t know what will happen to their son. They have invested thousands of dollars into treatment in hopes of helping him along, as he continues to develop over the years. As Jacqueline has shared several times, there are things that he does or says that could hint that he’s on his way to getting better, as he’s learning and using words he didn’t know before his diagnosis. But it sounds like Giudice has a lot to learn about autism.

“Understandably, I could tell it was still hard for Teresa to completely understand the Autism Spectrum because she said to me during that playdate, “Well, at least it’s not permanent” referring to his Autism. Although it is true that many children on the spectrum have recovered many skills once lost, currently there is no known cure for Autism. However, with the right early interventions, treatments, and therapies many children can greatly improve! There is no predicting the future. There is only hope,” Jacqueline Laurita reveals on her blog, according to Bravo, adding, “At this point, my walls questioning Teresa’s sincerity with me were starting to come down again and it felt really good about being friends with her again.”

It’s great to see that these two are bonding over this experience, as Teresa is trying to understand everything that Jacqueline Laurita is going through, while Laurita is trying to be open to the support she could be getting. As she said on the show, she revealed that she wants to get Nicholas together with more children, so he gets that interaction and that experience.
