‘Outlander’ Season 3 Spoilers: Jamie And Claire’s Sexy Reunion, New On Set Photos, Cast Additions

Warning: This article contains potential spoilers for Outlander Season 3.

Outlander Season 3 filming has been underway for weeks, and that means spoilers are finally starting to appear, bringing a bit of relief to fans suffering through the latest Droughtlander.

First, Outlander showrunner Ronald D. Moore took to Twitter to answer some fan questions about Season 3 while attending a San Francisco Giants baseball game last weekend. He revealed the new season is “off to a great start.”

The former Battlestar Galatica showrunner also said he penned the Outlander Season 3 premiere.

While all of this is great news, what fans really want to know is when Jamie and Claire will be reuniting in Season 3. As regular viewers know, Season 2 ended with Jamie forcing Claire to go back through the stones to her first husband, Frank, before the doomed Battle of Culloden. However, 20 years later, she returned to Scotland with her grown daughter and learned Jamie survived the battle and she could return to him. Outlander Season 3 spoilers say the new season will pick up with pregnant Claire adjusting to life with Frank in 1948 and Jamie dealing with the horrific aftermath of Culloden.

But when will Jamie and Claire finally see each other again?

Really, Ron?

Moore may have been coy about the exact episode Jamie and Claire reunite, but he did promise there would be some steamy scenes in Season 3.

Of course, the “sexy scenes” could be between couples other than Jamie and Claire, but we’re hoping Moore isn’t that heartless.

In other news, Starz announced that two important Outlander Season 3 roles have been cast. John Bell, best known for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, will play Jamie’s nephew, Ian Murray, back in the 18th century.

“Young Ian Murray is a tall, gangly Scottish lad with a heart of gold, a stubborn streak and a penchant for getting into trouble. Bursting with charm, he’s more like his adventurous, fierce uncle Jamie Fraser than his farmer father Ian — but when we meet him, he is still a very gawky boy. However, he keeps trying to prove that he is a man and we will see him grow into quite a formidable one as the series evolves.”

The premium cable network also said Will Johnson (Waking the Dead) will play Claire’s friend and medical colleague, Joe Abernathy, in 20th century Boston.

“Joe Abernathy is a fellow doctor-in-training whom Claire befriends in medical school. Intelligent, charismatic, with a wry and irreverent sense of humor, Joe is a loyal confidant with great affection for Claire. He puts on a good face, but he is all too aware of his place in the Civil Rights era. Joe and Claire both feel out of place in the mostly all-white, all-male medical field, which bonds them together in a life-long friendship.”

Bell and Johnson join David Berry, who, as the Inquisitr recently reported, has been cast in the pivotal role of Lord John Grey.

Meanwhile, the Evening Times posted new Outlander Season 3 location photos of Catriona Balfe (Claire) and Tobias Menzies (Frank) filming in Dowanhill, Scotland, which is standing in for 1940s Boston. The outdoor scenes reportedly included several vintage cars and an old-fashioned bike. Apparently, Catriona’s scenes showed Claire removing logs from the trunk of a 1949 Packard Coupe.

Unfortunately, there is still no word on an exact 2017 premiere date for Outlander Season 3, which is based on the third book in Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series, Voyager. However, the good news is that a fourth season has already been ordered.
