‘Fear The Walking Dead, Season 2, Episode 13: When Will Madison And Nick Reunite?
For a while now, it has been predicted Madison and Nick are close to a reunion in AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead. Could Episode 13 be when this finally happens?
Spoiler alert: This article discusses Episodes 12 (entitled “Pillar of Salt”) and 13 (entitled “Date of Death”) of Season 2 of AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.
When Season 2 of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead return after its mid-season break, it didn’t seem likely Madison (Kim Dickens) would be reunited with her son, Nick (Frank Dillane), anytime soon. However, an unexpected connection was made in Episode 12 (entitled “Pillar of Salt”). It turned out Elena (Karen Bethzabe) knew of El Pelicano, the supermarket Nick’s group visits to trade for supplies. After Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) was stabbed by Ilene (Brenda Strong) in Episode 12, Madison and Elena make a run for medical supplies in an attempt to save Victor’s life. As Elena explained to Madison on the journey there, the brother of her nephew, Hector (Ramses Jimenez), is involved with the group who has control of El Pelicano.
It wasn’t long after Madison and Elena entered El Pelicano that Madison discovered the group talking about a “ratty-haired American.” Right away, Madison knew they were talking about Nick. While her inquiries nearly got her killed, when she returned to the Rosarito Beach Hotel, she turned the generator on in an effort to show Nick where she was.
Now that Madison knows the general area where Nick is, it is likely a reunion will be on the cards at some point in Fear the Walking Dead. But, could this reunion happen as early as Episode 13?
As yet, there are no indicators implying this. AMC have released the official teaser for Episode 13 of Fear the Walking Dead as well as a “sneak peek” into Episode 13. The sneak peek only deals with Travis (Cliff Curtis) and his son, Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie). This leaves the short teaser. So, is there anything in there that suggests a reunion between Madison and Nick in the next episode? Unfortunately not. Madison is shown searching the crowd gathered at the barrier they created around the Rosarito Beach Hotel in the hopes of seeing Nick, but there is no indication he is in the crowd. We do know, however, from the conclusion of Episode 12 of Fear the Walking Dead, she might see Travis in the crowd. If this is the case, it is likely her reunion with Nick will be delayed beyond this episode.
AMC has also released some promotional images from Episode 13 of Fear the Walking Dead. As yet, these images do not show any involving Nick. There is one image involving Chris as well as multiple images of the group Chris and Travis met up with earlier on in Season 2. The image of Chris does not show Travis, so it is unclear if these two are still travelling together. As for Madison, several images show her together with her daughter, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey). We know from Episode 12 of Fear the Walking Dead that Alicia is having issues with her mother still searching for Nick after he deserted their group. As she reminded her mother, she is still there and perhaps Madison should worry more about her than Nick.
So, it seems Episode 13 of Fear the Walking Dead will not be the episode when Madison and Nick are reunited. However, Fear‘s showrunner, Dave Erickson has previously confirmed the original group will reunite as late as in Season 3.
