Brad Pitt Releases Statement About Angelina Jolie Divorce

Brad Pitt is breaking his silence on his divorce with Angelina Jolie. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt this week after two years of marriage, and 12 years together. The couple, who share six children, may have an ugly split on their hands.

According to People Magazine, Brad Pitt has released a statement about the divorce, revealing he is saddened by the end of his marriage and that his main concern is his children.

“I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids. I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time.”

Angelina Jolie’s divorce filing has sparked a ton of rumors about Brad Pitt. TMZ reports that Jolie decided to end the marriage mainly because of Pitt’s parenting methods. It seems the actress didn’t agree with her husband’s way of raising their six children, and decided that splitting was the best option for her family.

Sources go on to say that Angelina was “fed up” with Brad’s alleged drug and alcohol use, and believes he has anger issues. Jolie’s attorney and manager both released statements on her behalf and echoed Pitt’s sentiments about their children.

“‘This decision was made for the health of the family. [Angelina Jolie] will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time,’ attorney Robert Offer said.

“‘Angelina will always do what’s in the best interest to protect her children. She appreciates everyone’s understanding of their need for privacy at this time,’ manager Geyer Kosinski stated.”

Another unflattering Brad Pitt rumor circulating includes his co-star Marion Cotillard. Jolie allegedly hired a private investigator to follow Pitt, and reportedly uncovered that Brad was having an affair with the French actress. Page Six reports that Pitt is going through a midlife crisis, and Angelina couldn’t take it anymore.

“He’s in the throes of some insane midlife crisis, and Angie is fed up.”

Meanwhile, fans are buzzing about the fact that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce could get ugly. Jolie has asked for full physical custody of all six children, with Brad only having visitation rights. This alludes to the fact that Jolie doesn’t want the kids spending a significant amount of time with Pitt. However, Brad may not willingly give up custody of the children, and a nasty custody battle could be in the cards for the couple if they can’t agree on an arrangement.

A source close to the couple recently revealed that the split is a “complete shock” since the couple known as “Brangelina” recently celebrated their second wedding anniversary together in August, adding that the pair has spent more time apart than usual this year.

“The divorce is a complete shock. They have definitely spent more time apart this year, but it’s still a shock. They just celebrated their wedding anniversary together.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Brad and Angelina’s marriage may have been on the rocks for quite a while. Sources reveal that the two did have some good moments together over the summer, and that they even discussed adopting a seventh child in hopes of further bonding them together. However, things quickly changed and prompted Angelina to file for divorce.

Jolie’s father, actor Jon Voight, also spoke out about the divorce to Radar Online. The Oscar winner says that he was also shocked by the divorce announcement, and that “something serious” must have happened to push Angelina to end the marriage.

“I don’t know much about it except it must be something serious. I just got the news and I’m concerned. The priority is always the children. I know she’s always concerned about the children.”
