Huge ‘General Hospital’ News: Tyler Christopher Is Not Returning, What Happened?

Fans have been patiently waiting for Tyler Christopher to return as Nicholas. Someone else played his role for a bit, but then the word came out that Tyler would be back. Now it looks like things have changed as Soap Opera Digest reveals that Tyler is not coming back at all because of contract negotiations.

The Inquisitr shared what happened when Tyler took a break from the show. He explained that he took a break to spend with his wife and children. Tyler doesn’t normally take vacations from the show. At the time he said, “I’m excited to go back. It’s going to be surreal because I’ve never taken that much time off. And the character has gone in a different direction, so they haven’t told me how they’re going to pick it up. I heard I died again. Probably not the last time!”

The truth is Tyler Christopher’s character Nicholas did die, but everyone thought that this wasn’t going to be real. They assumed Tyler would return to General Hospital, and Nicholas would be alive. Now there is no telling where they will go with this story line.

Now multiple sources are confirming that Tyler Christopher won’t be returning to the show at all. Instead, he will be moving on, and this means that Nicholas could really be dead. In 1996, Tyler Christopher joined the show as Nicholas and fans can’t imagine someone else playing the role 10 years later, but they have changed actors and actresses more than once on the soap. Nick Stabile played him for a bit, but they could decide to go with someone totally different if they brought Nicholas back to life.

It turns out that Tyler Christopher had planned to strike a deal on the contract last month, and then he would return to work this month. That would mean that you would see him back on the screen probably as soon as October. Now this won’t be happening, and nobody knows what will be done instead. They may even have to rewrite a few things unless they find a new actor right away.

TV Line shared that Tyler Christopher left the show in May and hadn’t been back since then. Nick Stabile played the part for a bit, and now Nicholas hasn’t been seen at all. When Tyler spoke out about coming back, a show rep refused to confirm anything. Now everyone understands why. Just this year, Tyler Christopher won his first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He was at a very strong spot in his career and probably never expected this to happen.

You never know where Tyler Christopher will land now. He could end up taking some more time off or go back into acting right away. After 10 years in the soap opera industry, it probably wouldn’t be hard for him to get picked up by another soap if he wants that, but he could go another route. This would be the perfect opportunity for Tyler to explore a prime time show, movies or even a career change. There will be a lot for him to think about. He did recently film a movie. As of right now, Tyler Christopher isn’t speaking out to his fans at all and they would love to hear what is going on straight from him.
