Andi Dorfman, Kirk DeWindt React To Their Exes’ ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Engagements

Andi Dorfman didn’t appear on the most recent season of Bachelor in Paradise, but her name was mentioned more than the names of some of the cast members. Ditto for Bachelorette alum Kirk DeWindt. Both Andi and Kirk were hot topics on the recently ended ABC dating show, and they both had interesting reactions to their exes, Josh Murray and Carly Waddell, getting engaged on the Season 3 finale.

Andi Dorfman’s final two guys from her Bachelorette season, Murray and newly crowned Bachelor Nick Viall, went engagement ring shopping on the Paradise finale, but only Murray popped the question, this time to blonde single mom Amanda Stanton. But Murray made sure to diss Andi, his former fiancé, during his proposal to Amanda, saying he had thought he had been in love before but realizes now he never was.

“I thought I knew what true love was in the past, but I didn’t until I met you. This is true love,” Murray told Stanton. Later, he made it clear that he never loved Andi the way he loves Amanda.

“This is the best woman in the world. Seriously. There is no other. Ever. Ever. I’ve never loved somebody else so much in my life.”

Josh used his proposal to drive home his point that he never loved Andi, but following the BIP finale, the former Bachelorette took to Instagram to make it clear that she has moved on from their volatile relationship and that she is no longer bitter about their messy split. (Andi’s post has since been deleted.)

Andi Dorfman didn’t congratulate Josh on his proposal, but after Nick Viall broke things off with his BIP love, Jen Saviano, on the finale, Dorfman did congratulate him on his newly announced gig as the next star of The Bachelor.

In addition, in a Facebook Live segment with Good Morning America, Nick revealed that Andi Dorfman messaged him privately to congratulate him on his role as ABC’s next leading man.

“Andi sent me a quick text,” he said. ” It pretty much echoed her tweet. It was very gracious, and I was a bit surprised. It was a very nice text. We went back and forth a little bit. We’ve both got on each other’s nerves over the past, but I think we’re at a good place at this point, and certainly I wish her well.”

Kirk DeWindt, who famously dumped Carly Waddell on last year’s Bachelor in Paradise finale, was more sarcastic regarding her engagement to Evan Bass. Not only did he poke fun at Waddell’s attempt to turn his name into a negative-sounding verb (“No one wants to be kirked,” she said), but, shortly after Carly accepted a proposal from Evan Bass, Kirk retweeted a video of a man dodging a bullet.

Andi Dorfman’s tell-all book, It’s Not Okay: Turning Heartbreak into Happily Never After, was a major storyline this season on Bachelor in Paradise. Both Murray and Viall were mentioned in the book, but they disagreed on how truthful Andi was in writing about their relationships with her.

In the book, Dorfman described Murray as emotionally abusive. Andi also said her ex constantly brought up the fact that she slept with both him and Viall in The Bachelorette fantasy suite. Andi’s allegations came back to haunt Josh when several BIP castmates warned Stanton about him, but he dismissed the book as pure fiction.

“[Andi] has not-so-kind things to say, and it’s very unfortunate that she would depict me in such a false way,” Josh said during a BIP date with Amanda. “I can’t comment on specific things in any kind of book that my ex has written because it’s a fictional story. There’s stuff that’s so ludicrous. How do you comment on something like that?”

While Murray called Dorfman’s tell-all a “fictional story,” Viall told E! News that, for the most part, what Andi wrote about him was true.

“It’s not my favorite book,” Nick said of Dorfman’s tell-all. “I’m familiar with the book, I’m in it a little bit.”

“I don’t know Andi to be the most honest person. What Andi does is she has a tendency of omitting information. That being said, the things that are written about me, as far as like the events that happened and things that were said, a large part of it did happen, so I can’t say that it’s a fictional book. It might be missing some information, but a lot of the things she wrote about did happen.”

Andi Dorfman defended herself and her book on Twitter, writing, “I speak two languages…English and Truth.”
