Selena Gomez To Produce ‘Wizards’ Special For Disney

Selena Gomez is only 20-years-old but she has already racked up a chart-topping single and she’s an Emmy winning actress. Now the young star will add ‘Producer’ to her resume. Gomez on Friday announced plans to produce a Wizards Of Waverly Place special for Disney. Gomez will officially be handed the title of executive producer.

The hour-long special pays homage to the Disney show that made Gomez a star when she started played the role of “Alex” in 2007.

The final episode of Wizards of Waverly Place aired on January 6.

The entire case will reunite for the special and Gomez tells Radio Disney’s Ernie D:

“I’m not ready for it to be over, so I just kind of want to do one more thing.”

Gomez added:

“It was my idea to kind of start this, because I wanted to do it really badly. I want to make sure I promise the cast and the fans a really, really good hour-long event that they can enjoy and will leave them feeling good.”

In the new Wizards special the entire Russo family takes a trip to Tuscany, Italy, where they meet a long lost relative. As expected Alex gets in trouble and hilarity ensues.

With a music career going strong and acting roles coming her way it is nice to see such a young up-and-comer in Hollywood who still sticks to the roots where they got their start.

Will you be tuning in with your kids to watch the Wizards of Waverly Place special produced by Selena Gomez?
