Jim Bob And Michelle Duggar Divorce Rumor: ’19 Kids And Counting’ Couple Reportedly At The Breaking Point Over How To Deal With Josh

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are reportedly headed for divorce as the 19 Kids and Counting couple is rumored to be fighting over what to do with their wayward son Josh.

There have been some reports in the past few months that Josh Duggar has been driving a wedge in the family after his return from rehab for sex addiction. The eldest male child, Josh was caught up in back-to-back scandals last year when it came out that he had molested some young girls during his teenage years, including his own sisters.

Just as the drama from that revelation was dying down, Josh was again struck with controversy when it was revealed that he was a client of the infidelity promoting site Ashley Madison. Josh admitted to being unfaithful to his wife and an addiction to pornography, then left his family for several months to attend an intensive, Christian-based rehab.

Things didn’t get easier upon his return, however, and there is now reportedly major tension between his parents. A new report from In Touch magazine claimed that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are at odd over how to deal with Josh now that he has returned, and the fighting has gotten so bad that the 19 Kids and Counting parents are even considering divorce.

The Hollywood Gossip had details of the alleged rift between Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar.

“The gossip publication claims that the pair has been at odds, and that while Jim Bob is ready to forgive his son, his wife isn’t so sure.

“Apparently, the tension has grown so thick that either Jim Bob or Michelle will be moving out of their Arkansas home in the near future.”

This is not the first time that drama over what do with Josh has led to tension between his parents. A similar report from March, also from In Touch, claimed that the couple was still at odds over whether to accept Josh back into their family functions.

“Jim Bob believes that Josh is completely cured, and Michelle, while she would never admit it publicly, understands why some family members don’t want Josh around them or their children,” an insider told InTouch magazine. “It’s splitting the family apart.”

The report claimed that the arguments over Josh Duggar had ruined the family dynamic, with Michelle openly challenging her husband in a way that she never had before.

“They rarely argue, but this one was a doozy. [Jim Bob] argued about putting family first and how Michelle needed to move on and put things in the past, and she stood her ground and said she was putting family first by being cautious.” The insider added, “Michelle has actually raised her voice to Jim Bob, which never happens. It’s gotten so bad that friends think this could destroy the marriage that no one ever thought could be broken.”

There could be even more tension in the family related to Josh. While reports indicate that he and wife Anna are back on solid footing after Josh’s return from rehab, insiders claim that some of Anna’s friends and close family members are still pushing for her to leave the unfaithful husband.

Hollywood Life cited a Duggar family source who claimed that Anna is still being encouraged to divorce Josh, though it appears she remains committed to going through counseling and keeping their family intact.

But Josh’s damage extended to the entire family, with his controversies leading TLC to cancel 19 Kids and Counting and now threatening their spin-off show, Jill and Jessa: Counting On. The news comes just as Jessa announced that she is pregnant with baby No. 2, a big moment both for the family and for their new reality show.

There is also a healthy amount of doubt about the rumors that Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are heading toward divorce. The couple has all the outward signs of a happy marriage, including a loving anniversary tribute that Jim Bob wrote for his wife in July.
