Mariah Carey’s Sister Pleads Not Guilty To Prostitution Charges, Rift Continues Between Sisters
Mariah Carey has earned herself the reputation of being a non-supportive younger sister to her troubled sibling Alison Carey. The 55-year-old has recently pleaded not guilty to a charge of prostitution against her. Alison appeared in court on Wednesday in upstate Saugerties, according to reports.

Mariah’s sister was released from Ulster County Jail once she was able to make her $1,000 bail, as the New York Daily News reports. The diva and her lawyer are said to have refrained from speaking before or after the proceedings, during which Alison pleaded not guilty.
Carey was arrested on Friday at a Howard Johnson hotel after an undercover police officer, who posed as a customer, responded to an ad that the singer’s sister had posted online. The advertisement included two photos of Alison along with the words that promised clients a “sweet, sweet fantasy,” an allusion to her superstar sister’s famous lyrics from her 1195 hit “Fantasy.” The National Post shares the full contents of the advertisement posted.

Mariah has long been very distant from her older sister. The two have reportedly been estranged for a decade, and it was recently made known that the 55-year-old is HIV positive. Following news breaking on the subject, Alison reached out to her sister, pleading for her help and financial support for medical costs in a video filmed for the U.K. tabloid the Daily Mail.
“Mariah I love you, and I desperately need your help, please don’t abandon me like this.”
The video was recorded as a means to attempt to mend the rift between Alison and her younger superstar sister, Mariah, and to perhaps gain support from the soon-to-be billionaire. The video was released in March of this year just months after doctors brought the broken and drug-addicted woman back from the grips of death. Elder Carey is battling back to health amid mounting medical bills and also was the victim of a home invasion attack in April of 2015 that left her brain damaged. Alison Carey has been in and out of the hospital ever since.
The sisters’ older brother, Morgan, was responsible for recording the video to attempt to assist his sister in achieving some sort of compassion from their younger sister, who is worth an estimate $510 million on her own. The 62-year-old brother to Mariah and Alison hoped that the heart-breaking video would mend the long-running feud in the singer’s family and would encourage Mariah to reach into her rather deep pockets to pay for Alison’s health care
Mariah Carey is known for her lavish lifestyle and wears an engagement ring worth $7 million, given to her by Australian billionaire James Packer. Forbes estimates Mariah’s soon-to-be hubby’s net worth to be $4.7 billion, and he is the fourth-richest person in Australia.
Although Mariah is being made to look like the heartless wealthy sister, it’s been reported that the star has, in fact, attempted to assist her sister in the past years by paying for her to go to rehab, but the troubled woman always broke off from rehab early and used money given to her by the singer to fund her continued addiction. It’s clear that tough love is now the route that Mariah is taking.
