Jessica Simpson Rejected For Lap Band Surgery Twice

Jessica Simpson has been open about her struggle to lose weight after giving birth, but apparently the singer/actress considered having lap band surgery to lose the last few pounds. However, she was turned down by doctors who told her the surgery wasn’t a quick fix.

A friend told RadarOnline that Simpson felt there was no way she could lose weight on her own after giving birth to her daughter. The friend also said:

” … She has struggled so much in the past and her post partum weight seemed to be growing. So like a true Hollywood girl, she sought out a quick surgical fix – lap band surgery!”

The friend said Simpson sought the advice of two different doctors, and both persuaded her to keep trying to lose weight the natural way.

The 32-year-old has lost 70 pounds so far by working out with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak. She has also been using Weight Watchers, and is a spokesperson for the weight loss company. Simpson told Katie Couric that she is 10 pounds away from the weight she was before she gave birth.

Simpson also confessed earlier this month that she didn’t realize “the weight didn’t all come off with the baby.” She also said:

“I’m not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I’m just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiance and herself.”

Even though she hasn’t lost all her baby weight yet, Jessica Simpson was still confident enough with her body to don her Daisy Dukes once again, this time to celebrate fiance Eric Johnson’s 33rd birthday. The couple welcomed daughter Maxwell Johnson on May 1.
