Minneapolis, MN – At least two people are dead and four injured at an office shooting in Minneapolis. The shooter is among the dead; he reportedly died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The tragic incident occurred at the Accent Signage Systems Incorporated building in the Bryn Mawr section of the city.

A police officer stated during an interview with Fox 9 News that the shooter came into the office Thursday afternoon; he had been fired from his job earlier the same morning. Preliminary law enforcement reports indicate that the shooter may have been targeting specific employees.

The Minneapolis officer shooting suspect was reportedly known to local law enforcement officers prior to the violence on Thursday. The man allegedly entered the business around 4:45 pm. Approximately an hour later, local officers and SWAT team members found the suspect dead in a corner of the basement.

Minneapolis Mayor R. T. Rybak posted the following statement about the office shooting on his Twitter page:

“Very bad situation in Bryn Mawr. Please stay away and let the police do their work.”

The Hennepin County Medical Center confirmed they are treating a minimum of three shooting victims; the patients are currently listed in critical condition. It is unknown where the fourth Accent Signage Systems victim was transported for emergency care.

Accent Signage specializes in Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant signs and interior signage. The company has approximately 28 workers at the 30,000-square foot facility.

Dozens of police cars and first responder vehicles converged around the business after the 911 went out about the shooting. Law enforcement officers had their rifles drawn and initially pointed at a park area when they first arrived on the scene and began hunting for the shooter.

Details about the Minnesota shooting will be added as soon as they become available.
