Tom Cruise, Scientology’s most famous member, may be distancing himself from the controversial church, if rumors are accurate. Although a report about the star’s alleged parting of the ways with the religious group does not state he is no longer a practicing member, that has not thwarted internet buzz about a supposed insider’s claims.
The Top Gun star has allegedly inched away from the controversial church and has been spending time with friends outside of the religion.
A Radar Online source had this to say about Tom Cruise:
“Tom hasn’t admitted that he’s definitely leaving Scientology for good. But he’s distanced himself from those in the church and has been hanging out with good friends who aren’t a part of the religion. Tom’s been leaning on friends who have different perspectives, getting advice on moving on from Katie as well as on everything else he’s been going through with Scientology. He’s finally seeing that being such an advocate for Scientology hasn’t served him as well as he’d hoped. He’s gone through three divorces and his public perception has sunk to an all-time low.”
Cruise, 50, is also allegedly making a mental pros and cons list regarding the damage his affiliation with the controversial organization, which some consider a cult, has done to his romantic relationships. The drama surrounding the megastar’s personal life may settle down before the release of his crime thriller, Jack Reacher , according to The Hollywood Reporter .
Both the Radar Online source and hundreds of online posters believe the living away from his daughter, Suri, played an integral part in the actor’s soul searching.
