Tottenham Vs. Liverpool: Preview, Prediction, Predicted Line-Ups, Betting Odds, Live Streaming, And Audio Commentary

Tottenham hope to continue their winning momentum against Liverpool following their win against Crystal Palace in the last game. The new signing from Southampton, Victor Wanyama, scored his first goal for Tottenham to hand them the first victory in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham’s other summer signing, Vincent Janssen, is yet to score for his new club since arriving from the Dutch Leauge.

Competition: English Premier League 2016-2017
Date: August 27, 2016
Game Week: 3
Kick Off: 12 p.m. BST or 7 a.m. EST
Venue: White Hart Lane (London)

It will be interesting to watch whether manager Mauricio Pochettino goes for the strike partnership of both Janssen and last season’s top scorer Harry Kane. In the game against Palace, the striking duo couldn’t find the back of the net, so this time, Pochettino may well go with Dele Alli in the position behind the striker and one of the strikers spearheading the attack.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will not have the luxury of fielding their captain Hugo Lloris against Liverpool as the Frenchman is currently nursing a hamstring injury, as reported by the official website of the club. Midfielder Mousa Dembele also will not take part in the game against Jurgen Klopp’s men, as he is suspended for the match.

In the transfer market, Tottenham are linked with another striker, Palace’s Zaha, in a £15 million (about $19 million) move.

Manager Pochettino gave his views on the game against Liverpool.

“It will be a very tough game. I remember last season it was Klopp’s first game in charge.

“They like to play on the counter attack. They are fast. Different to us – we like to manage the ball.

“We are a different team with a different philosophy but it will be tough.”

On a different note, Champions League draw has taken place on Thursday, and Tottenham will face fellow Brits Celtic, Monaco, and Borrusia Monchengladbach in the group stage.

Liverpool: Team News

Manager Klopp has to find a solution to make his side consistent, and he needs it soon. After encouraging win in the opening game against Arsenal, Liverpool were expected to have some positive results in succession but slumped to a defeat against a relatively weak team, Burnley. What is more surprising is that Liverpool didn’t score a single goal against the minnows despite having more than 80 percent of the ball during the game!

However, in the following game in League Cup against Burton Albion, Liverpool netted five with Daniel Sturridge hitting a brace.

Champions League 2016-2017 draw will not distract Liverpool as the Reds will not take part in this season’s competition, unlike Tottenham. Going into the game, Liverpool might be more focused as their London rivals might be little interested in their Champions League participation this season.

One important decision Liverpool manager Klopp have to take against Tottenham will be whether to play Daniel Sturridge as a centre-forward. The Englishman complained recently about his position being in the wings rather than in his favorite position, which is at the center of attack.

Regarding the game, manager Jurgen Klopp said, “They [Tottenham] are absolutely convinced about their way and their style of play. They didn’t change too much and they have high individual quality. They are a pressing team, a high-pressure team, so we need to know about this. They don’t give away a lot of spaces but there are spaces, of course.”

Liverpool: Predicted Line-up (4-3-3)

Tottenham vs. Liverpool: Match Prediction

Tottenham will, of course, have home advantage in this game as the North Londoners have a very good record at home last season, which nearly helped them to win the league. So far, Tottenham seem better than Liverpool as they have not lost any of the league games — two to be precise. Liverpool, on the other hand, have been inconsistent, and there are signs the Anfield club have yet to gel, especially in defense.

We give the edge to Tottenham Hotspur to win the game against the club from Liverpool.

Predicted Score: Tottenham 3-2 Liverpool
