Reality star NeNe Leakes is finding herself in a world of trouble right now. She reportedly owes over $800,000 to the IRS, according to new reports.

The Daily Mail was the first to report NeNe Leakes’ bad news on Wednesday, August 17. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star has been threatened by the IRS, who say they will seize her assets if she doesn’t pay the full amount of $824,000 that she owes in taxes. According to the report, NeNe Leakes, whose real name is Linnethia Monique Leakes, was hit with a federal tax lien on July 22 in a Georgia court.

The IRS accused the 48-year-old reality star of refusing to pay back the total amount of $824,366.01 in back taxes for the year 2014, according to recent court documents. If she doesn’t pay back those taxes soon, then the IRS will begin the process of seizing her assets and property to collect the debt. Back in 2014, Leakes appeared on the 18th season of Dancing with the Stars. That same year, she launched the NeNe Leakes Collection on the Home Shopping Network — which sold out within minutes — and made her acting debut in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, notes BET.

Leakes even coined the catchphrase “I’m a very rich b****” when she appeared on the Bravo reality show, as seen in the video below.

But, she left RHOA for good back in 2015. In a statement published by People, Leakes said that she had no plans to return for Season 8 of the show that gave her a platform. She then took to Instagram for their support all these years. Leakes apparently wanted to move on with her other projects. She told People that she “will be happy” to have an “opportunity to shine” on her own.

“This is so hard for me to type! I cry as I do so! I am so Grateful for all the love and laughs! Thank you so much to everyone that has watched and supported me over the years on this amazing platform! With lots of thoughts and prayer I’ve decided to step out on faith and not fear,” Leakes wrote on her Instagram post.

Since then, Leakes’ net worth has been steadily on the rise, according to recent reports. Back in April, it was rumored that her net worth was about to get another boost since she was in talks with fellow castmate Kim Zolciak about their own Road to Riches reality show, as previously reported via Hollywood Take.

Sources told TMZ that Leakes and Zolciak were in talks with Bravo about their own show, which would feature the former RHOA housewives going on adventures and driving across the country. However, the network keeps putting the show off. Back in July 2015, sources told E! News that the show was “not happening right now” because both Leakes and Zolciak were in the middle of their own projects.

Leakes reportedly has the highest net worth among all of the Bravo housewives, notes Hollywood Take. Her reported net worth of $12 million stems from her Bravo spinoff, appearing in the Broadway shows Cinderella and Chicago, and her other TV appearances. Leakes has been signed on as judge of ABC’s To Tell the Truth alongside Betty White.

In case you didn’t know, Leakes is also a published author and producer. But, she would love to work with Bravo again in the near future. In her last interview with E! News, Leakes said she was excited about their spinoff.

“Well, one of the things I’m most excited about is working with Kim, just the two of us. I just left Housewives where I was working with like, six monsters.”

It looks like all of Leakes’ lucrative projects left her with a huge amount of taxes. Maybe her return to Bravo is what she needs to pay them back.
