‘Dual Survival’ To Feature Former ‘Naked And Afraid’ Stars

The new season of Dual Survival will feature elite survivalists EJ Snyder and Jeff Zausch. Fans of the Naked and Afraid franchise will immediately recognize these two. They both appeared on Naked and Afraid and Naked and Afraid XL, where these two fan favorites proved time and again they have what it takes to survive almost anywhere.

Army combat veteran EJ “Skullcrusher” Snyder and wilderness survivalist Jeff Zausch will be the new co-hosts on this season of Dual Survival. Together, they will face whatever challenges are thrown their way on Dual Survival, braving some of the harshest and most unforgiving environments in the world. Previously, these Discovery Channel superstars have faced and overcome a myriad of difficult situations.

Snyder and Zausch have had to contend with several tough challenges ranging from fighting off illness to fending off hungry hyenas. They also experienced the potentially dangerous and “shocking” pain of catching electric eels in the inhospitable and remote equatorial jungle of Colombia on Naked and Afraid XL.

This fearless duo may believe that they are well prepared for anything that Dual Survival has to offer, but as fans of the show know, they will experience several grueling challenges that they’ve never encountered before. According to a Discovery press release, on this season of Dual Survival, the pair will be facing the snake and alligator-infested coastal swamps of Louisiana, navigating the pitch black caverns of the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia, and facing the parched, sun-scorched desert savanna located in southern Brazil.

These new Dual Survival co-hosts have worked well together as a team in the past despite having a difference of opinion at times. Their survival will hinge on helping one another as they face dehydration, hypothermia, deadly predators, and other dangers as they struggle to find their way back to civilization. Jeff is a world-class hunter with advanced primitive hunting experience, and his skill set includes fire making, finding water, and shelter construction. EJ is a decorated, 25-year Army combat veteran and survival instructor, and his skills include tracking, trapping, water procurement, shelter building, primitive weapons, and navigation.

Their individual and unique skill sets will definitely be an asset on Dual Survival, but at times their differing approaches to survival may cause problems. According to Red Carpet Crash, they will have to put aside those differences and focus on working together in order to successfully complete each Dual Survival challenge. They already have one major advantage this time on Dual Survival because unlike Naked and Afraid, they get to wear clothes, and some very basic supplies will be available that may or may not help them.

If fans like what they see, Snyder and Zausch will most likely return for more. Dual Survival recently shared on their Facebook page a video from the new season and a comment from Josh James, who co-hosted the previous season with Grady Powell. His larger-than-life personality and sense of humor quickly made him a fan favorite on Dual Survival, and he first thanked everyone for all of their kind comments, likes, and shares. He then mentioned that there was a good chance that he would be returning to Dual Survival sometime in the future and that there may be a few changes to the show’s format.

“The idea is to have 2 pairs of hosts so we can rotate, as the filming/surviving/travelling (sic) is very hard on the hosts physical and mental health. That’s why they have had all the changing hosts – to see who the fans liked,” Josh explained. “I reckon if EJ and Jeff keep the fans happy there is a good chance the network will keep Dual Survival going and bring back Grady Powell and Josh James Kiwi Bushman, so give these new guys a chance and lets see what they can do aye! They are very passionate about survival and I believe they are going to nail it.”

Dual Survival is produced for Discovery Channel by Original Media. Glenda Hersh and Steven Weinstock are executive producers, and Brian Nashel serves as both an executive producer and the showrunner. For the Discovery Channel, Christo Doyle, Mitchell Rosenbaum, and John Slaughter are executive producers, with Lisbeth Lozano serving as the coordinating producer.
