The original stars of MTV’s hit reality TV series Teen Mom OG are back with another season of life, love, relationships, and parenthood. Farrah Abraham, Maci Bookout, Amber Portwood, and Catelynn Baltierra (née Lowell) all return for the fourth season of the series, and the upcoming two-hour season premiere is already full of drama.
In a sneak peek for next week’s Season 4 premiere, cameras caught up with the newly married longtime couple Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra. The last time fans saw the childhood sweethearts, they had just welcomed their second daughter Novalee Reign and took in Tyler’s father Butch after he had been released from prison — all while they also prepared to walk down the aisle. The couple also struggled with the ongoing, complicated relationship between themselves and Brandon and Teresa, the adoptive parents of their first daughter, Carly.
But the Conquering Chaos co-authors made it through last season’s obstacles and face new ones in the upcoming season. The teaser clip opens with an exterior shot of the Baltierra home. There’s a light dusting of snow on the front lawn and unlit white icicle lights hung on the front porch. In the next shot, Catelynn and Tyler sit at their kitchen table eating lunch with little Nova sitting in her highchair.
“I think I’m going to join Weight Watchers again,” Catelynn said as she dipped a quesadilla triangle into sour cream. “I really like Weight Watchers.”
“It worked for you last time,” Tyler said supportively.
Catelynn agreed, and said the points-based weight-loss program makes her feel good. The mom of two had put on weight since she first starred alongside her then-boyfriend Tyler on MTV’s 16 And Pregnant , and has expressed her desire to lose her baby weight on previous episodes of Teen Mom OG .
“Good! that’s good,” Tyler said as Catelynn took a bite of her quesadilla, then he pointed at her lunch. “So, what is this? What would this be considered?”
“I already looked it up, chicken and cheese quesadilla is seven points,” she said in between bites and her husband expressed his doubt.
“That’s a big quesadilla though, like how do we measure that?” Tyler asked, inadvertently shaming his wife for her choice of food.
“Well, ’cause it says ‘restaurant style,’” she explained. “I don’t know, I just look up the restaurant version of a chicken and cheese quesadilla.”
“I’m just wondering,” Tyler said. “You know, it’s your body, you do what you want. I mean, obviously I don’t want no heifer for a wife.”
Catelynn laughed at her hubby’s rude remark about her weight, People reported. But producer Jessica broke the fourth wall to call Tyler out on his food-shaming.
“Tyler,” Jessica scolded, and Tyler defended his comment by saying he was just being honest.
“I know,” she said, laughing. “But you come off so harsh sometimes.”
“I’m sorry,” Tyler said and placed a hand on his wife’s arm. “Is that harsh?”
“Well, I don’t know, do you think I’m a heifer right now?” Catelynn asked and Tyler said no.
“Okay then, see,” she told Jessica, laughing again.
“Well, just know that I love you no matter what,” Tyler said as he ate a couple of French fries.
“Well thanks babe, I love you too,” Catelynn said, then changed the subject. “But damn, I’m like, should I try to go on Weight Watchers right now and lose all this weight, or are we planning on having like a big family?”
“Yeah,” Tyler sarcastically reacted to his wife’s suggestion of having another baby and becoming a family of four.
