Johnny Depp’s Troubling Divorce Has Been Settled

Johnny Depp’s divorce has been settled, according to a report from TMZ. It’s a story that had many doubting Amber Heard’s charges in the beginning, and it became crazier as time went on. Amber accused Johnny of domestic violence and recently provided photographic evidence that was very damaging. She has dropped her request for a restraining order against Depp, and she did it with prejudice. That means she can never re-file it.

Johnny and Amber released a joint statement following the settlement being reached. In the statement, Depp does not admit to being violent with Heard.

“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love…”

It also includes language that states that no emotional or physical harm was ever intended.

Johnny Depp’s friends and family made many accusations against Amber in the last few months, with some saying that many of the things she claimed happen didn’t happen. Many of them, as well as many in the general public, accused her of creating the charges in order to get a large financial settlement from Depp. The joint statement addresses these charges to an extent with this statement.

“Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains.”

It also says that Heard will donate any money she gets from the divorce to a charity.

The Daily Mail reports that an inside source told them that the evidence provided by Amber in the last few days was a game changer for Johnny Depp.

“Stories about the messages in blood were the tipping point for Johnny, he was devastated. The facts that have come out in the past few days have left him distraught, he just wanted it all over with.”

One of the facts the source refers is a video in which Johnny was seen in an apparent drunken rage. Amber asked if he had consumed an entire bottle of wine. At one point, she apologized, but it wasn’t clear what she was apologizing for.

The video also showed Depp saying, “I’ll show you crazy.”

The “stories about the messages in blood” also portrayed Johnny Depp in a very unfavorable light. The story surfaced yesterday in the news. Heard explained that about a month after they married, they went to Australia where Johnny was to film the most recent installment of the Pirates of the Carribean franchise. While high on ecstasy and drunk, she alleged that Depp flew into a jealous rage, accusing her of sleeping with Billy Bob Thornton while the two were working on a film together. She charged that Johnny was breaking things and that at some point, he cut off his fingertip.

Amber continued, saying that after he injured his finger, Depp went into the room where she paints and dipped his injured finger in some dark blue paint. Johnny then proceeded to the bathroom, where he wrote “Billy Bob” and “Easy Amber” on the mirror with his injured, paint-covered finger.

She provided a photo of the mirror with the writing as well as a graphic picture of Depp’s injured finger, which he didn’t get looked at by a doctor until almost 24 hours later. In the picture, Johnny also has a swollen knuckle and his hand, fingers, and nails appear to be stained with dark blue paint. Heard said that Depp’s injury held up production of Pirates of the Carribean for two weeks. At the time, his injury was reported as the result of an “on-set accident.”

Depp and Heard were married for 15 months. Johnny’s legal team initially offered $8 million to settle the case, but that offer was refused. The amount that Depp provided in the final settlement was $7 million.
