Selena Gomez ‘Still Loves’ Justin Bieber, Jealous Of Sofia Richie And ‘Spiraling Downward’?

Selena Gomez has repeatedly insisted that she is finished with Justin Bieber, claiming that their famous romantic relationship will never be rekindled. But now, after she shocked everyone by posting a message throwing shade at her former boyfriend for his demand that fans stop dissing his new gal pal, Sofia Richie, Gomez has become a combination of a fighter in an epic Instagram war and a member of a Sofia-Justin-Selena love triangle.

How The Battle Of The Biebs Began

Ever since he split up with Selena, Justin has become infamous for his serial dating style. From Kourtney Kardashian of Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality TV fame to actress Nicola Peltz, the singer has been playing a girlfriends version of Musical Chairs, as the Inquisitr noted.

It didn’t seem to bother fans until Sofia Richie came along. The Biebs took his hookup with Sofia on a fast plane to love, parading their affection during romantic walks and then soaring off with her to Japan, where they continued to flaunt their affair all over Instagram. When fans responded with hateful messages, the pop star blasted his Beliebers, pointed out Elle.

“I’m gonna make my Instagram private if you guys don’t stop the hate,” he warned. “This is getting out of hand, if you guys are really fans you wouldn’t be so mean to people that I like.”

That’s when Selena entered the war, posting a comment on her former boyfriend’s Instagram.

“If you can’t handle the hate, then stop posting pictures of your girlfriend lol,” she recommended. “It should be special between you two only. Don’t be mad at your fans. They love you.”

Beliebers adored the response, kicking off the #SelenaEndedJustinParty on Twitter.

Gomez Has Never Let Go Of Love

But why has Selena taken the time to throw shade at her former boyfriend? One of Gomez’s friends told People that Selena has not been able to let go of her love for the singer.

“He was Selena’s first love, and she hasn’t been able to totally get over him.”

In response to Gomez’s suggestion that he stop posting all those photos of his new girlfriend Sofia, Justin slammed Selena.

“It’s funny to see people that used me for attention and still try to point the finger this way,” he wrote.

However, a source close to Gomez informed People that his allegation is false, and that the Biebs played the game of one-upping his former girlfriend.

“They’re both young and have made mistakes, but she has never used him,” revealed the insider. “He put their relationship out there way more than she ever did, and he’s been very strategic about it. Whenever something good is happening in her life, he’ll post something to get at her.”

Selena Jealous Of Sofia?

In addition, Gomez reportedly feels jealous of Sofia, a source told Hollywood Life.

“Seeing Justin with Sofia really struck a nerve.”

The insider revealed that Gomez watches her former boyfriend closely on Instagram and keeps tabs on him. Consequently, as she observed his Instagram pages overflow with images of his new girlfriend, Selena reportedly became increasingly upset.

“The reason why Selena is so upset is because she still loves Justin,” shared the source. “They were each others’ first love and there’s still a lot of emotion and attachment.”

Moreover, his response to her message hurt her, added the insider. She feels concerned about him, wondering if he has “lost his way a little bit….She wanted to jab him and remind him of his roots where he came from.”

But do those “roots” still include a romantic relationship with Gomez? The PDA parade between Justin and Sofia has continued, leaving Selena alone.

Concern For Gomez

Even before Selena waded into the war between the Beliebers and the Biebs, a report claimed that Gomez was having problems and re-evaluating her life. Selena was described as having a meltdown, with an insider cited by OK! Magazine expressing concern.

“[Selena] has been having breakdowns and is rethinking her entire music career and life path right now.”

In addition, a friend of Gomez’s revealed that the singer is “in a very, very bad place mentally.” And the pal saw no sign of improvement.

“She’s totally spiraling downward,” added the worried friend.
