‘Just Cause 3’ DLC Pack ‘Bavarium Sea Heist’ Available August 18 For Non-Season Pass Holders

Avalanche Studios recently released the final Just Cause 3 DLC. Bavarium Sea Heist is currently available for the Air, Sea and Land Season Pass holders. According to a post on This is Xbox, those without the Season Pass can get hold of the latest DLC for Just Cause 3 as a standalone purchase beginning August 18.

In this content pack, players, taking advantage of the new rocket boat, are to “brave the dangerous waters of West Medici.” Play as Rico who is on a mission to penetrate a mysterious research facility called Stingray. As described in the post, it is the “home of the rarest and strongest weapon ever created by the Eden Corporation.”

The newest Just Cause 3 DLC brings in a new location, fresh missions, and a new challenge type, among others. The description for the Bavarium Sea Heist DLC, posted on Just Cause Youtube channel, specifically on the trailer page, further read the following.

  • Liberate the Medici coastal waters of Scolio, home to Eden Research stations and the mysterious “Stingray” base.
  • Drive the deadly rocket boat “Loochador” using its multi-lock missile launchers and miniguns to defeat the formidable Black Hand Fleet.
  • Infiltrate the Stingray base to steal the deadly “Eden Spark” lightning gun and unleash elemental death on your enemies in all new storyline and missions.
  • Power up the Eden Spark further with mods earned in the “Boat Invader” challenge.

A review of the concluding Just Cause 3 DLC from Destructoid described the Eden Spark lightning gun as “legitimately cool,” making it a “sweet addition” to the weapon arsenal. “The entire story builds up to Rico getting a hold of this gun, which literally brings down a sustained beam of lightning from the sky to destroy anything under it,” it added.

The review also cited how the latest DLC is “exactly the same” as the previously released content packs for Just Cause 3. Explaining how all these DLCs resemble each other, it shared the following.

“Drawn cutscenes introduce an issue that Rico needs to solve. He liberates some areas. There’s a final mission. At some point, a new gizmo or doodad is introduced and unlocked. Fin.”

Looking back at the first two Just Cause 3 expansion packs released by Avalanche Studios, this observation seemed to be true. The first DLC called Sky Fortress brought in a jetpack wingsuit while the second one, Mech Land Assault, made two powerful and controllable Mechs available for gamers, according to Steam. And in this third Just Cause 3 DLC, players will be able to get hold of the lightning gun and the rocket boat.

Just Cause 3 was released December last year. Published by Square Enix, this open-world action-adventure video game is currently available on Sony PS4, Microsoft Xbox One, and Windows PC. To experience the latest DLC available now, gamers can purchase the Air, Land and Sea Season Pass, which is worth $25.

“Our aim with the Air, Land & Sea Expansion Pass was to completely alter the way players tackle the game and we’ve achieved just that,” Marcus Andrews, lead designer of the Air, Land & Sea content shared, as cited on GameSpot. “Each of the three packs of new tools allows the player to wreak havoc in fresh, creative, and unique ways that ensure both new and existing fans of Just Cause 3 will have hours of additional content and an enormous number of ways to approach any situation.”

Those who plan to avail Bavarium Sea Heist as an individual purchase once it arrives for non-Season Pass owners on Thursday next week will have to shell out $6.
