'The Vampire Diaries' Season 8: Caroline Forbes Will Have Big Shifts And Moves, Julie Plec Teases [Spoilers]

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will focus on finding Damon and Enzo. However, they will not be the only characters to be featured when The CW series returns. There will be a lot going on with Caroline Forbes. Recently, executive producer Julie Plec revealed what fans can expect from Candice King's character on TVD.

Spoilers for The Vampire Diaries Season 8 are ahead. If you do not want any teasers, hints, or clues on what to expect, then stop reading.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, "Steroline" will be back together. However, that doesn't mean their relationship will go smoothly. In a video interview, which can be viewed below, Candice King teased that Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and Caroline Forbes will have some bumps in the road. This was later confirmed by TV Guide. The website stated that a new woman in town would show interest in Stefan. The mystery character is powerful and usually gets what she wants.

However, Caroline's journey in Season 8 of The Vampire Diaries doesn't just involve Stefan. According to Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Julie Plec explained that Caroline will try to be everything to everyone. Just think of all the roles King's character has to play in the supernatural TV show. Not only does she have a romance with Stefan and planning a June wedding, but she is also helping find Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Enzo (Michael Malarkey).

She is also a mother to the Gemini twins, will relocate back to Mystic Falls, and has a new job as a journalist at the local news station. Caroline will also probably try to be there for her friend, Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham), who lost her magic and the two most important men in her life. Caroline will be multi-tasking to the extreme. As Plec put it, Caroline will have some big shifts and moves when TVD airs new episodes.

What else can fans expect when The Vampire Diaries returns? Hopefully, Nina Dobrev will come back to the series. Speaking to TV Line at Comic-Con, Plec said an emotional promise was made that the actress would return before TVD ended. According to Mark Pedowitz, president of The CW network, they are still trying to work out the details. However, just in case Dobrev can't return, the executive producer has a backup plan.

During the interview, it was also teased that Damon and Enzo will still have a part of themselves. As fans recall, the creature inside the vault took over the two vampires. In Season 8, the entity will be forcing Damon and Enzo to do certain things. It was hinted that the characters will try to resist, suggesting that there is a chance they can be saved. Also, Enzo will be leaving Bonnie clues so she can find him. However, is this the real Enzo leaving the bread crumbs, or is Kat Graham's character being lured in by the monster inside the vault?

According to Collider, new characters in The Vampire Diaries Season 8 include Seline (Kristen Gutoskie). She is a nanny of two children, which fans are assuming are the Gemini twins. It was teased by the publication that Caroline will try to "figure out" the nanny. Also, Nathalie Kelley will portray Sybil, which some believe is the creature in the vault. Finally, Demetrius Bridges will play Dorian, an intern for Alaric (Matt Davis).

What do you think will happen with Caroline Forbes in The Vampire Diaries Season 8? Will "Steroline" make it to the altar or will the new woman in town interfere? Can Damon and Enzo be saved, and if so, how? What do you expect from Bonnie, Stefan, Alaric, and the other characters?

The Vampire Diaries will begin airing new episodes on October 21.
