Ryan Gosling Lets Eva Mendes Be The Boss: ‘Women Are Better Than Men’

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes have already mastered the art of hiding things from the media because they did it again with their second baby. The 42-year-old actress surprised many people when she gave birth to Amada Lee last April.

She was able to hide her pregnancy from the public just like she did with their first baby, Esmeralda Amada. The name of their children brought confusion to some people because one of their names is the same, so the Latina beauty tried to explain the reason behind their daughters’ names aside from getting it from her grandmother.

“We had a few names picked out for our new baby, and when she was born, we didn’t feel like those names were her,” she told Latina magazine. “We came up with a few more, even that morning, and tried them out. We were like, ‘What about Viviana?’ But we just kept going back to Amada.”

According to Mendes, it is common in Latin culture to reuse names all the time, and she explained this to Gosling, who doesn’t seem bothered by it. The Hitch actress also revealed how she and Ryan are raising their girls.

“My little one is still an infant, and right now it’s really about surviving those nights and trying to enjoy this time as much as possible with them, and start the bond between Esmeralda and Amada,” the brunette beauty said.

Apart from giving their daughters the same name, Ryan Gosling seems to let Eva Mendes be the boss in their relationship. She’s exposing their babies to her culture by playing Cuban music and teaching them how to speak English and Spanish with the help of her mom. The Ghost Rider actress seems to have a bigger influence on their kids rather than the Notebook star. In fact, she may have also transformed her boyfriend into becoming a feminist.

“I think women are better than men. They are stronger, more evolved,” the 35-year-old told the Evening Standard. “You can tell especially when you have daughters and you see their early stages, they are just leaps and bounds beyond boys immediately.”

The Hollywood heartthrob seems to have a way with the ladies, and it’s not only because of his girlfriend and their little girls. The actor grew up with women, and his mom had a strong influence on him. He also understands how women feel when they are objectified by men, and he thinks it is time for men to feel the same.

Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes started dating in 2011 while filming The Place Beyond the Pines. Many people thought including the actor’s uncle Kevin that he will end up with his former co-star and ex-girlfriend Rachel McAdams. The two dated from 2005 until 2008, and his uncle admitted that he still has a photo of the former lovers hanging in his house.

“It sure seemed like Rachel was The One for him,” Kevin told Heat magazine.

Unfortunately, his uncle’s dream of seeing them get married was shattered because the Hollywood superstar fell in love with his The Place Beyond the Pines co-star; and he seems to be staying with her for a long time. During an interview with Hello! Canada, Ryan Gosling revealed what kind of woman he would like to be with.

“I know that I’m with the person I’m supposed to be with,” he said, adding that the one quality he looks for in a woman is “that she’s Eva Mendes.”

“There’s nothing else I’m looking for,” the actor added.

Apart from being with the woman he loves, he also feels blessed having two daughters in his life. The actor was asked during an interview on Good Morning America how he feels about being surrounded by women in his home.

“It’s heaven,” he said. “It’s like walking through a field of flowers every day. I live with angels.”

It seems that Ryan Gosling is really in love with Eva Mendes, and that’s why he is letting her be the boss when it comes to taking care of their kids since she’s doing a great job with it.
