Manchester United will face AFC Bournemouth in the first game week of new English Premier League 2016/2017 season in the Vitality Stadium. The match will kick-off at 1 pm BST, or 8 am EST, and will be officiated be veteran Premier League referee Andre Marriner.

Manchester United’s game against Bournemouth will be the first league game for newly appointed boss Jose Mourinho in his new club, and he will surely want to open his account with a win. The “special one” took rein at Manchester United after previous manager Louis van Gaal was sacked from the club citing underwhelming results, despite winning the FA cup title in May.

But Jose Mourinho need not to worry about this so much as he can field other stellar names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who are players recently arrived in United.

Club captain Wayne Rooney is expected to play, leading his team against Bournemouth. Anthony Martial will also start for the Manchester side, who begins second season at the club following his big money arrival from AS Monaco last summer.

As per the ESPN, Manchester United manager Mourinho was positive when asked about his team chances in this season.

“I think Manchester United has to say we want to win the title.

“At the end of the season if we are not champions because someone is better than us then great, that’s football. But at Manchester United Football Club you cannot say differently, we have to fight for the title.”

Having claiming victory over last season’s champions Leicester City in Community Shield, which marks the official season opener in England, Manchester United will be in confident mood, and is expected to take all three points.
