‘Days Of Our Lives’: 5 Clues Fans May Have Missed In The ‘DOOL’ Preview Clip [Spoilers]

Days of Our Lives will not air new episodes on NBC until August 22 due to the Olympics. To ease viewers going through soap opera withdrawal, the network released a preview clip showing what fans can expect. While nearly everyone has seen the video, there may be some clues that were missed.

DOOL spoilers for the new season of the NBC soap opera are ahead. If you do not want to know what will happen with the Salem characters, then stop reading now.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, several Salem residents will be in danger when Days of Our Lives returns. The NBC soap opera is bringing back not one, but three former villains to the long-running series. One is Clyde Weston (James Read), another is Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), and then there is Orpheus (George DelHoyo). As fans can see from the preview clip, which is posted below, Clyde has Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) at gunpoint, Xander strangles Theresa Donovan (Jen Lilley), and Orpheus brings Eve Donovan (Kassie dePaiva) to Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) wedding and threatens to kill them all.

While the three soap opera villains were the most obvious part of the preview clip, as SoapCentral pointed out, what are some clues DOOL fans may have missed? First, Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) attends Brady and Theresa’s wedding. Victor hates Theresa, and he was suspected of arranging Tate’s kidnapping. In fact, early in the preview clip, he is arrested, and Brady announces to everyone what the crime is. If he were found guilty, there is no way Brady and Theresa would have Victor at the wedding. It is also strange that Victor even showed up considering how much he hates Jen Lilley’s character on Days of Our Lives.

Second, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Paul Norita (Christopher Sean) look calm. Even though John is experienced with this sort of thing, Paul is not. With the surprising way Orpheus busted in the chapel, both men should appear more surprised. Were they expecting something like this to happen? Were John and Paul aware that Orpheus broke out of prison and might be coming back to Salem?

Next, the Days of Our Lives clip shows Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) in a hospital bed when Victor is arrested for Tate’s kidnapping. It is clear she probably gets the surgery that Deimos Kiriakis (Vincent Irizarry) arranged. However, at the wedding, which is assumed to happen later, Maggie is still in a wheelchair. Did the surgery not work, or does Maggie have to go to physical therapy to learn to walk again?

Also, Abigail’s death was addressed in the preview clip. Both Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) are grieving but in different ways. In a quick shot, Jennifer is seen passed out on the couch. She may just be taking a nap, but it seems more likely that she relapses. When Jack Devereaux’s (Matthew Ashford) spirit came to visit Jennifer, she sent him away. The Days of Our Lives character made it clear that she needed the pain pills to numb her pain.

Finally, Chad will go into a rage when the soap opera returns. Not only does he have to deal with the news that his wife is dead, but Jennifer is also trying to take baby Thomas away. Will it all be too much for Billy Flynn’s character on Days of Our Lives? On the last episode, he decided he would do whatever it took to win the custody battle. Could he tempt Jennifer with pain pills by leaving some in her house? Fans will have to wait to find out, but chances are Chad isn’t going to be Mr. Nice DiMera anymore.
