‘Zootopia’ 2 Movie Update: Nate Torrence Wants Clawhauser To Go An Adventure With Nick And Judy In The Sequel

Zootopia 2 will not only revolve around Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick (Jason Bateman) if it were up to Nate Torrence. In a recent interview, Torrence said that he would love for his character, desk clerk Clawhauser, to see some action in the sequel.

Speaking to What Culture, Nate Torrence shared that he is looking forward to doing Zootopia 2, adding that each of the cast members would love to reprise their roles given the chance. Torrence also had nothing but praises for the creatives over at Disney.

“I think what Disney does great is they create worlds rather than plots. So that’s what I think’s cool is that rather than it being ‘what plot am I going to look at?’ I just see Zootopia as this giant world that they could continually go at,” he said.

The publication reported that directors were actually talking about the possibility of doing a sequel for Zootopia. While a synopsis and possible release date has yet to be confirmed, Torrence said that he already has an idea of what the story could be. He hoped that Nick and Judy will go on another adventure in Zootopia 2, but hopefully, Clawhauser will tag along as well. This could not be too far off given that Judy and Clawhauser developed quite a friendship during the first film.

“My personal secret goal is that it would something that’s obviously another case for Nick and Judy and maybe Clawhauser gets to tag along a bit. I wouldn’t mind getting out in the field to help old Judy and Nick through it. Get him out from behind the desk. I think that could be fun.”

In an interview with Cinema Blend, Ginnifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman shared what they wanted to see in Zootopia 2.

“The two of us, kicking ass out there. Cleaning up the streets. We’re a couple of new cops out there. So, bad guys, be warned,” Bateman said.

Goodwin, on the other hand, wanted to see their dynamics reversed in the sequel. She shared that it would be interesting to see Nick be the optimistic character for a change.

“You and I know what happens at the end of the movie, and I would like them to along on this adventure in their new roles. But because they are playing new roles, I would also like to see Nick [Wilde] have to be the one to convince Judy [Hopps] that the world is worth fighting for,” she explained

Amidst all the rumors surrounding the plot for Zootopia 2, perhaps one of the more common things fans are hoping to see is the possible romance between Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps. Given how the film ended, it is not surprising to see why fans thought there could be something more between the two.

Zootopia directors Byron Howard and Rich Moore told MTV News that they intentionally left Nick and Judy’s relationship ambiguous. While the two looked good together, they never thought that fans would have such a strong reaction towards the pairing.

If they decided to do a sequel, Howard and Moore promised fans that all their questions will be answered in the next movie.

“At the very end of the movie, it does feel like there could be a little bit more, but never did I think that it would turn into the shipping that it’s become… If we ever move forward with these characters and these stories, then that’s a debate that we’ll have to weigh in on. It will probably be the main issue we’ll need to address. One side is going to be disappointed, and I don’t know which side that is yet.”
