Rumormill claims Eddie Murphy is dead

Fake celebrity deaths are usually the domain of slow news weekends, but for a change we have one mid-week, a rumor claiming that Eddie Murphy is dead.

The rumor claims that Eddie Murphy “was killed in an accident on the set of the film adaptation of the video game Left 4 Dead, currently filming in Los Angeles, CA.” The cause of death is attributed to to have been a special effects mishap.

The rumors date back over 12 months, and has come in a number of variations, although they normally include an accident on a film set of some sort.

While you could argue that Eddie Murphy’s career might be all but dead, the man himself is still 100% alive and kicking. We can never be 100% sure, but we’re definite on the call: chalk this up as another fake celebrity death.
