Miranda Lambert Closes Final Chapter Of Blake Shelton Divorce, Opens Store In Texas After ‘Vice’ Release

Miranda Lambert is officially moving on from her marriage to Blake Shelton.

Over one year after the country couple divorced, Lambert has opened a new Pink Pistol boutique in Texas to “close a chapter” and move on from her original store in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, which she opened while married to Shelton.

“You hear about towns that have dried up and blown away,” Miranda Lambert’s mother, Bev, told the Tyler Morning Telegraph. “Tishomingo had dried up, and was just about to blow away. Miranda hated to see that, and she opened a little antique and junk shop. Just something to help bring people downtown.”

According to a My San Antonio report on August 8, Miranda Lambert opened the Oklahoma store in 2011 after she and Shelton tied the knot. Then, after their July 2015 divorce, it was back to her hometown in Texas to open her newest store.

As for Miranda Lambert’s other big project, her upcoming album, the 32-year-old recently released her first track, “Vice.”

“I’m nervous as hell,” Miranda Lambert admitted to Billboard magazine, via People Magazine, of putting herself out there on her new “tear-in-your-beer” song, “Vice.”

“Vice” is Miranda Lambert’s first post-divorce song and includes lyrics about drinking and making mistakes.

“I’ve been hunkered down for a year writing, recording, trying to live a normal life and getting ready for a new album. No one’s heard from me. I’ve been pretty silent all this time,” Miranda Lambert explained.

Following their 2015 divorce, Blake Shelton moved on from his marriage to Miranda Lambert with rock singer Gwen Stefani, his Voice co-star, and continued to film the NBC show while working on his album, If I’m Honest, which was released in May. Meanwhile, Miranda Lambert kept a low profile after they split but ultimately surfaced with new boyfriend Anderson East earlier this year.

“Now that I’m coming with a song, it does make me nervous, and I hope that people are respectful of it and understand what I’ve been doing. But I’ve never hidden anything or tried to be too mysterious,” Miranda Lambert said. “I’m pretty straightforward in my music. I always have been, and that hasn’t changed. With my songwriting, it’s taking a journey with what’s been going on in my everyday life – good, bad, ugly and everything in between. I feel like the right thing to do was just come out with something really honest.”

Miranda Lambert may have gone through a tough split in 2015, which likely wasn’t made any easier by Shelton and Stefani’s highly publicized romance, but she also found happiness with East and that is sure to have been an inspiration for her new album as well.

“Every record I’ve ever made has been a reflection of where I am right then in my life, however old I am,” Miranda Lambert revealed.

According to Miranda Lambert, she chose to dive into her emotions full-force while writing her new album because she’s never been one to hold back — and because she didn’t really have a choice. As she pointed out, everyone is well-aware of her split from Shelton, and the same goes for her new love with East, which made its red carpet debut at the Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas in April of this year.

No word yet on when Miranda Lambert’s yet-to-be-named album will be released in stores.
