Claire Danes On Fame: ‘I Can’t Imagine Being Angelina Or Jen’

Claire Danes is one of those highly-respected and talented actresses who doesn’t really get the attention she deserves. All things being equal, she seems perfectly content with that, saying in a recent interview that she couldn’t imagine fame on par with actresses Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston.

Danes recently did a photo shoot for T, the New York Times style magazine. The shoot took pace in Tel Aviv, where she’s busy shooting the second season of her critically acclaimed show, Homeland, the research for which she detailed in another recent interview.

In the candid interview for the photo shoot, Danes talks about how she has dodged the bullet of celebrity, saying that she fears being “imprisoned in fame,” though she thinks that her life is now “too predictable” to make the juicy gossip headlines, reports MSN. The 33-year-old is married to Hugh Dancy, and recently announced that she is pregnant with the couple’s first child.

“I cannot imagine what it would be like to be Angelina Jolie or Jennifer Aniston,” she says of their fame. “I was watching a documentary about Britney Spears, and what she has to cope with really shook me.”

But Danes enjoys her relatively low spot on the gossip media’s radar, saying that her portrayal of CIA agent Carrie Mathison gives her “more pleasure than anything else.”

“I love words. It is physical. It is intellectual. It’s psychological,” she says.

But a critically-lauded an popular role takes its toll on her personal life, doesn’t it?

“Well, it’s been nice to have a reprieve,” she says of the season break. “I feel I put her in the fridge for a few months, next to the vodka. I was a little nervous about being able to access her straight away again, but, no, there she is, right next to the vodka. I like her a lot. She means well and she is kind of a superhero. So it is fun to put my crazy Carrie cape on again.”
