Karrueche Tran Moves Past Chris Brown And Lands New Acting Gig

Karrueche Tran and Chris Brown have been taking shots at each other on social media. The actress broke up with Chris Brown after he fathered a child with another woman while they were in a relationship.

Brown has done everything from writing love songs to win her back to tarnishing her talents in a number of social media posts.

However, Karrueche has been trying to break away from her name being attached to the superstar singer. The actress and model has landed a role in a TNT pilot Claws.

According to Deadline, Tran will portray a manicurist named Virginia working at a nail salon. She will work with Niecy Nash, who also has a role in the dramedy. The publication gives details on the show.

“Written and co-executive produced by Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me), Claws is said to be in the vein of Desperate Housewives. It follows the lives of five diverse and treacherous Florida manicurists. It soon becomes clear there is a lot more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures.”

In an interview earlier this year, Karrueche talked about moving past Chris Brown. She talks about proving that she is more than someone’s ex in the video below. Tran tells the interviewer about how she worked two jobs before she met Chris Brown and alluded to the fact that she has always been independent.

The 28-year-old actress has kept busy with starring in MTV’s Catfish, the movie A Weekend with the Family also starring Marques Houston, and she maintains a YouTube channel with almost 8 million views.

According to Hollywoodlife, there is no way that Karrueche is going to get back in a relationship with Brown.

“Karrueche doesn’t want to be a part of anything Chris Brown related. So when she had to party with him, it ruined her night. She would rather go through the rest of her life without him in it in any way,” a source told the publication.

She allegedly ended up in the same party with her ex during a Kylie Jenner birthday party. Tran is friends with Kylie and the pair did a cooking show on her YouTube channel. Chris Brown is also believed to be friends with the Kardashian family.

“She was not in the mood to see his smug face or give him the opportunity to speak because every time he opens his mouth lies and manipulation spew out. Kae’s done her best to stay focused on her career and out of Chris’ shadows,” a source tells Hollywoodlife.

It is not clear whether Chris Brown has moved past the relationship, as he has made several attempts to reconcile with Karrueche. Chris Brown also has a tumultuous relationship with the mother of his child, Nia Guzman.

The two have attacked each other on social media and Guzman had reportedly attempted to file papers citing that the “Loyal” singer is unfit to care for his daughter without supervision.

However, the judge shut down her request and allowed Chris Brown to care for his daughter without supervision.

One of the many spats the co-parents had on Twitter involved the way Nia Guzman dressed their daughter. According to the Dailymail, Brown wrote “‘If anybody thinks something is wrong with a baby… mad at the world in dance class… in her TUTU… U need to go pray! #Namaste,” on Instagram. Brown felt the clothes looked “risky” for a young girl.

The 27-year-old singer has a lot on his plate, and many fans can see why Karrueche is keeping her distance. To make matter worse, it appeared that Karrueche and Nia were friends before Chris Brown’s affair.

There is little hope that Chris Brown and Karrueche will get back together. However, her Hollywood career is starting to take off.
