Emma Watson Calls ‘Perks’ Kiss Scene ‘Epic’

Actress, occasional exhibitionist, and risky search engine subject Emma Watson admitted in a recent interview that she could hardly wait for her kissing scene in The Perks of Being a Wallflower, calling the tender smooch “epic.”

Watson told MTV News that her lengthy kiss with co-star Logan Lerman in her new film qualified as a “career highlight.”

“I mean, when I read our first kiss scene, it’s so epic. It’s like the most beautiful scene I’ve ever seen written on a page,” the 22-year-old explained. “And it was like, ‘Oh, we’re going to have to kill this one!’ Like, it’s so good, I wanted to do it justice. And it’s so emotional and we’re both so vulnerable in it, but the main thing was I get to do it with Logan.”

Watson and Lerman are apparently quite comfortable with each other, which made shooting the scene a breeze for the Harry Potter alum:

“He makes me feel so safe,” Watson says of Lerman, “so it’s going to be fine, which made it fine.”

Yahoo! News reports that Lerman had some reservation about the epic kiss scene, but not because of co-star Watson. He was more nervous about performing the kiss scene in front of a full film crew:

“[It was] nerve-racking,” he said. “Those scenes are always hard to do when there’s 15, 20 other people in the room.”

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower sees release in the UK on October 3. When it is released domestically on September 21 (tomorrow) you’ll have to go see it and come back to tell me what you think of Watson’s “epic” kiss scene.
