‘The Vampire Diaries’: Ian Somerhalder Blames Nina Dobrev For Show’s Cancel?

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 will be the series’ last season and not only the fans but even Ian Somerhalder is not too happy with show’s cancelation, and thinks that the poor ratings are because of his ex-lover Nina Dobrev.

Celeb Dirty Laundry reported that Somerhalder blames Dobrev for the dip in show’s ratings, that eventually became the reason for its cancellation. The weblet further stated that Dobrev left the show because she did not want to be around Somerhalder, but she did not think about the outcome of the show when she made the harsh decision.

So, does this mean that Somerhalder does not wish for Dobrev’s return to the show, even if her mere presence will surely boost the ratings?

Well, it seems so.

Celeb Dirty Laundry also revealed that from an earlier prediction, Somerhalder earns somewhere around $40,000 per episode, and if Dobrev will make her return, then The CW will slash the money from his payout.

Well, during the recent San Diego Comic-Con panel, when a fan asked Lost star about Dobrev’s return the show, the actor stated that there are only 18.75 percent chances that xXx: Return of Xander Cage’s actress will make her comeback.

If Somerhalder blames Dobrev for show’s cancellation, even Dobrev thinks that after ending her high-profile relationship with the actor has boosted her career.

According to the reports, when the star was dating Nikki Reed’s husband, she had only TVD episodes in her pipeline. However, when the couple parted their ways due to personal indifferences, offers of multiple films started to come to her.

Within few years, the actress found herself shooting with Vin Diesel and other celebrated stars.

Apart from all the blame games, show’s executive producer and co-creator Julie Plec has high hopes for her show’s beloved character to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert. During the same event, Plec stated that when Dobrev left the show, she made it very clear that the only reason she is leaving is because she wants to focus on her films.

“Not to put too much pressure on anything Nina Dobrev, but a promise was made. An emotional promise that I’d like to see come to life.”

This is not for the first time when TVD’s producer Plec talked about the possibility of Dobrev’s return. In her earlier interview with TV Line, Plec stated that the supernatural series is indeed coming to an end, but along with the writing team and The CW, she will try to bring back Dobrev at the end of the series.

“Obviously, things can change throughout time, if the show goes on longer than we expect it to, or if we all collectively decide it would be fun to bring her back earlier, and she wanted to. But in my opinion, she was very clear about what she wanted the next step in her life to be, and she’s doing a great job of achieving that. So I’m sticking with my side of the plan, which is to bring her back at the very end.”

Meanwhile, there are predictions that if Dobrev will make her return then she will not be reprising the role of Elena Gilbert.

Kat Graham, who plays the role of Bonnie Bennett in TVD, teased the fans during her conversation with E! News that the show is bringing a new female villain, and everyone will be amazed to see her.

“The villain, as of right now, is this amazing female badass. It’s going to be good.”

The Vampire Diaries’ final season premieres Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. on The CW.
