Miranda Lambert Admits To Feeling ‘Vulnerable’ While Writing ‘Vice’ And Other New Songs On Her Album

Miranda Lambert recently released her first post-divorce song, “Vice,” and during a new interview, she opened up about the songwriting process involved in her upcoming album.

While Lambert’s album isn’t expected to be released until later this year, the 32-year-old country singer appears to be quite excited for fans to hear what she’s been working on since her split from Blake Shelton in July of last year.

“I’ve been hunkered down for a year writing, recording, trying to live a normal life and getting ready for a new album,” Miranda Lambert revealed to Billboard, according to a report by Entertainment Tonight on August 2. “Now that I’m coming with a song, it does make me nervous, and I hope that people are respectful of it and understand what I’ve been doing.”

Miranda Lambert says she’s been “pretty straightforward” with her music and has exposed the “good, bad, ugly and everything in between” in her new album. She also noted that it “takes a lot of confidence and strength to be willing to be vulnerable.”

Miranda Lambert and her former husband, Blake Shelton, were married for four years before their July 2015 split. While “Vice” is rumored to be about Lambert’s first post-split moments, she has yet to confirm any such news.

“Everybody has a vice. Everybody goes through a time in their life when they run to it a little bit more than when they don’t,” Miranda Lambert explained.

While Miranda Lambert’s divorce has certainly been linked to lyrics of single, “Vice,” and will likely continue to do so as new songs are released, the singer said she doesn’t worry about what people are going to think about music because she isn’t hiding a thing.

Miranda Lambert has had quite the year. Since splitting from Shelton, the singer has been targeted with rumors of being unfaithful and rumors of being cheated on. In addition, she’s faced rumors of engagements and pregnancies, the latest of which was shared just days ago by Life & Style magazine.

Miranda Lambert has “outdone her ex and his new love when it comes to romance, career, fans and, in the biggest bombshell of all, baby news,” a source revealed to Life & Style magazine at the end of last month, according to a report by Gossip Cop. “There are whispers that Miranda is pregnant with boyfriend Anderson East’s baby.”

News of Miranda Lambert’s relationship with Anderson East first hit the web late last year, and after a couple of weeks, Lambert confirmed the news of their romance with a cuddly photo on her Instagram page. In the photo, Miranda Lambert and East were seen under a red flannel blanket.

While Gossip Cop confirmed Miranda Lambert was not actually pregnant after Life & Style’s report was shared, the magazine’s source also claimed Shelton would not be happy to see his ex-wife move on a start a family with East.

“If she starts a family with another man, it would have to make Blake’s blood boil,” claimed the supposed source. “His greatest wish was to have a baby with Miranda during their relationship. But now it’s Anderson by her side, and Miranda is thriving like never before… For Miranda, it’s the ultimate revenge at last.”

Miranda Lambert has not yet personally responded to the latest pregnancy story. Instead, she has remained focused on her career and ongoing tours, one which features her solo and another in which she acts as the opener for Kenny Chesney.
