Britney Spears Announces New Album ‘Glory,’ Confirms Release Date

Britney Spears’ new album has officially been announced! The pop star has revealed that her latest record, “Glory,” will be in stores on August 26! Britney Spears fans are over-the-moon excited for this highly-anticipated announcement, which comes just weeks after Spears released her newest single, “Make Me…”

As you can see from Spears’ announcement below, fans who pre-order the album beginning at midnight tonight will get the song “Private Show” instantly. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Spears confirmed that this song would be on her album during a behind-the-scenes interview about her newest fragrance of the same name.

“I wanted to do something this time that was different… I personally like guy scents. There’s a spice and a flavor to guy scents that really makes me excited and turns me on. And we thought it would be really cool to do something sexy. And I think that’s fun for girls. ‘Private Show’ is inspired by a sexy song and it promotes feeling vibrant and alive,” Spears said in the clip.

It is presumed that “Private Show” will be Spears’ next single.

Britney Spears previously talked about “Private Show,” saying that it was something “fun” and that girls would really enjoy it.

“‘Private Show’ is inevitably a sexy song, and it promotes feeling sexy and girls feeling alive, and I think that’s fun for girls,” she shared, according to Us Weekly.

“Glory” is Britney Spears’ first album since 2013’s “Britney Jean,” which featured hits like “Work B**ch” and “Perfume,” but the songs fell a little short for many fans. Britney says that she went in a completely different direction with “Glory,” and it’s going to be surprising for her fans. She has also said that she’s very proud of the album, and she really took her time with it to make sure that it was “done right.”

“It’s not what you would think at all. It’s the best thing I’ve done in a long time. I’m proud of the work, and it’s very different; It’s not what you would think at all. But I’m not rushing anything. I just want it to be done right so that my fans will truly appreciate it,” she said.

Britney Spears hasn’t released any additional information in regard to how many tracks will be on “Glory” (she usually puts 12 on a record) or what the tracks have been titled. It’s also unknown how many of her new songs are collaborations. Britney worked with G-Eazy on “Make Me…” and supposedly has a track with Calvin Harris. Spears also worked with DJ Mustard, who described their track as a “super big hit” and a “motion picture,” according to Billboard Magazine. “[There are] too many words [to describe it],” he added.

The album is also expected to feature contributions from songwriters Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter (Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’), Ian Kirkpatrick (Jason Derulo’s ‘Want to Want Me’), and Simon Wilcox (Nick Jonas’ ‘Jealous’),” reported the Metro UK back in April.

Britney Spears won’t be going on tour to promote her new album as she is too busy with her residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas. A change-up in her onstage routine is expected, however, as she will more than likely want to include some of her new tracks in her set list.

Britney has recorded a music video for “Make Me…” which is also expected to be released this month. It is undoubtedly a very big month for Britney and her fans!
