Jennifer Garner: Teen Choice Awards Queen, Pays Tribute To Sick Kids, Says ‘Don’t Give Up Hope’

Jennifer Garner was all smiles while she hopped up on stage at the Teen Choice Awards to receive an award for her recent film Miracles From Heaven.

Garner was among a large number of Hollywood’s biggest stars at the event, which was hosted by Victoria Justice and John Cena. The 44-year-old actress took to the stage accompanied by her film co-star Kiley Rogers, to accept the award for choice drama movie.

The film, which had great success at the box office, focused on Garner’s character, a real-life Texan mom named Christy Beam, whose young daughter miraculously recovers and is cured from a rare disorder. Jennifer happily accepted the award and directed her words to her young co-star, as People shares.

“Thank you, this is for this little lady. That’s for you baby. Thank you so much. Thanks to everyone, we were definitely the underdog in this category. That’s so exciting. It’s amazing to us the impact this movie was able to have, and have all you guys appreciate it means the world to us.”

Prior to wrapping up her reception speech, Jen sent out a hopeful and inspirational message to children suffering in hospital. The publication reminds of her words.

“All the kids who are in a hospital waiting for a miracle, don’t give up hope!”

The notable actress has been known for her kindness and involvement in causes that benefit children and families suffering through difficult times. Jen recently returned to her hometown, that experienced devastating flooding. The star is an advocate for Save the Children, and she headed to Charleston in order to show support to families dealing with the emotional after-effects of the devastation they have fallen victim to.

The Charleston Gazette-Mail relays the words of Garner, who shared how strong the families she spoke with seem, even when facing such challenging times.

“I can’t tell you how many people today already have told me, ‘I’m fine, we’re fine,’ and I look around and think, ‘You’re fine, but it’s a mess,” she said. “You keep being fine, and let us help with the mess.”

Garner also spoke about her affiliation with Save the Children and shared as to why she stands behind the organization.

“It makes me feel a little more safe to know that this organization that I love is taking this so seriously and saying, ‘How can we make kids more safe? How can we make them more whole? How can we help their psycho-emotional fears after this?'”

As the publication relays, Save the Children is dedicated to ensuring that children are protected and are able to carry on in healthy development, despite challenges they may face. The organization has served to help more than one million children in the United States affected by emergencies since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Jennifer Garner has always maintained a very respectable and admirable reputation, even when facing her own challenges. Since she and her now-estranged husband Ben Affleck announced their split in June of 2015, Garner and her family have experienced a whirlwind of media scrutiny and attention. The brunt of that came by way of a nanny scandal that broke only months following the couple’s split. Affleck denied the allegations and the former couple has sought to remain amicable for the sake of their three children.

This year, rumors have swirled that Ben and Jen are headed toward a reconciliation and that the pair, who were married for nearly 10 years, may even be considering renewing their vows. This is all reportedly false, and reps of the stars maintain that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck remain separated.
