Taylor Swift Failed To Get Any MTV VMA Nominations, Ex-BF Calvin Harris Picked Up Three & Celebrated On Snapchat
Taylor Swift failed to pick up any MTV VMA nominations for 2016, while her ex, Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, picked up three nominations which he celebrated with his fans over Snapchat. One of which is for ‘Best Collaboration’ for “This is What You Came For” which he co-wrote with Swift — awkward.
Taylor Swift usually dominates the MTV VMAs, so it is strange not to see her name on the list of nominees. Since her breakout single, “Teardrops on My Guitar,” in 2008, Swift has picked up 16 VMA nominations and 6 wins. Swift won last year’s video of the year with her hit song, “Bad Blood.”
Someone who did get nominated in multiple categories is Swift’s arch nemesis, Kanye West, for his song “Famous,” which features a topless wax figure of Swift, among other famed celebrities.

The 32-year-old DJ won his first VMA in 2012 for “Best Electronic Video” for “Feels So Close,” and “Best Collaboration” and “Song of the Summer” for his über popular tune, “I Need Your Love,” in 2013. Harris’ success has only grown immensely since then, winning awards left and right for his chart-topping hits.
Calvin Harris celebrated his three VMA nominations on Wednesday by going on another epic Snapchat rant — about plants?
Yes, that’s right, plants.
Harris took to Snapchat to share his excitement about his nominations with his fans as he soaked up the sunshine.
“Use the sun’s energy, become a better person with the sun on your side.
“Think of yourself as a plant, like how do plants grow? The sun, water, you’re a f**king plant.”
He goes on with the plant metaphor for a bit, adding that if your plant needs some hard liquor or anything, that’s cool too. Whatever that means.
“Bit of tequila, bit of vodka for your plant, that’s fine. You’re the plant, so relax. That’s what I’m trying to say.”
It seems like maybe Calvin was enjoying a bit of hard liquor himself, but hey, he is celebrating.

Calvin Harris has made it completely clear that he is so done with his past relationship with Swift. He even joined Kanye West’s wife, Kim Kardashian, in celebrating Jennifer Lopez’s birthday in Vegas this past weekend.

Harris was probably feeling rather giddy receiving recognition over his ex. There are whispers of Kanye even wanting to team up with Harris for a Taylor Swift “diss” track.
The DJ thanked MTV on Twitter for the nominations.
As for Taylor Swift, she hasn’t posted on Twitter for ten days now, which is unusual for the pop star. Her last tweet commented on Kim Kardashian’s recording of her speaking with Kanye over the phone. The video revealed that Taylor did, in fact, know about the song “Famous” coming out and had said she was okay with it. Kim blasted Taylor for lying on social media, and now there is a full on war between Swift and the Kardashians/West.

Most likely, Taylor is staying quiet because she knows she was caught in a lie. Taylor has been acting as though she is too wrapped up in her new relationship with Tom Hiddleston to notice all of the haters anyway.
Fans can start voting online Tuesday. MTV will announce the nominees for “Best Song of Summer” at a later date.
