‘Pokémon GO’ Workout: Learn How To Lose Weight As You Catch ‘Em All

Pokémon GO workout could indeed change the perception of mobile gaming in the modern world, according to Quartz.

It’s been less than three weeks since the location-based reality mobile game was launched in many countries, but critics are already talking about the health benefits of the game. In particular, just the fact that there is a Pokémon GO workout says a lot about how this game makes people more physically active.

In fact, even without following any Pokémon GO workout, there have been hundreds of reports about sore legs from long periods of walking, searching for their Pokémon.

But Quartz has come up with a special Pokémon GO workout that allows players to not only be faster at their Pokémon search, but to also lose weight while staying physically active. This workout can also serve as the perfect way to challenge yourself for those who love adventures.

This Pokémon GO workout is an interval routine, which is much more effective than jogging for hours when it comes to losing weight.

But the greatest part of the Pokémon GO workout is that it was designed so that you catch ’em all faster and more effectively and at the same time shed the pounds. However, you’ll have to be cautious while running around the city, looking at your screen to locate Pokémon.

In fact, there was an incident of two guys falling off a cliff outside San Diego while playing Pokémon GO earlier this week, according to Mac World. So if you don’t want to run into a tree branch, you’ll have to pay attention to what’s in front of you when completing this Pokémon Go workout.

In order to start the Pokémon Go workout, you’ll have to warm up for at least 10 minutes. Now fire up Pokémon Go and jog to the nearest team Pokémon gym, where you’ll have to do three training battles with different Pokémons. Do three reps of each battle.

Now sprint at your highest speed to the nearest PokéStop to heal from the training battles. But pay attention to what’s happening in front of you while sprinting!

In the first part of this Pokémon Go workout, you’ll have to jog to the Pokémon that is farthest away from you in the “nearby Pokémon” tab. Track this Pokémon the entire time. This jog will take you from one to 25 minutes.

Once you catch this Pokémon, do one jumping jack for each of this Pokémon’s Combat Points (CP). As you progress in the game, you’ll have to do more jumping jacks with this Pokémon GO workout.

Now if you’ve caught a new Pokémon, do as many squats as its number in the Pokedex. Now sprint to the nearest PokéStop to collect more items. In the second part of this Pokémon Go workout, you’ll have to jog lightly to the nearest enemy Pokémon gym and start a battle.

Now this is a challenging part of this Pokémon Go workout, as you’ll have to assume a push-up position, placing your phone right underneath your nose. And instead of attacking with your fingers, use your nose every time you lower yourself in a push-up.

So in order to win, you’ll have to do the push-ups as fast as possible. If you complete this challenge, assume a plank position for one minute after the battle. If you failed, do the plank for two minutes. Now sprint to the nearest PokéStop and repeat this Pokémon Go workout one or two more times. Cool down and take a well-deserved rest.
