NBA Rumors: Derrick Rose Compares New York Knicks To Golden State Warriors

It takes a lot of confidence to be a star in the NBA, and some have more than others. According to ESPN, Derrick Rose is comparing the New York Knicks to the Golden State Warriors. The six-foot-three point guard feels that they are the two super teams in the National Basketball Association.

Roster moves have a way of exciting people. When big names come together to form a team, a lot of people automatically assume that great things are guaranteed to follow. Some believe that if you put together enough talent, then everything else will simply fall into place on its own.

Magic Johnson, Byron Scott, James Worthy, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar won NBA Championships together, and so did Danny Ainge, Dennis Johnson, Larry Bird, Kevin McHale and Robert Parish. Fans believe that the formula is that simple. However, those legendary Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics team had amazing chemistry, a required ingredient for success.

When Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, and Chris Bosh decided to form a super team, the Miami Heat failed to win an NBA Championship during their first year together. They won a lot of games, but they ended up losing to a Dallas Mavericks team that had fewer stars but more chemistry.

Needing an upgrade at the point guard position, the New York Knicks traded for Derrick Rose, as reported by ESPN. That caused a lot of excitement from people who think that Rose has a chance at becoming an All-Star caliber player like he used to be.

In what many consider to be an upgrade at the center position, the New York Knicks signed Joakim Noah, as reported by Sports Illustrated. That added even more hype for the fan base because many are hoping that Noah can turn back the clock and become an All-Star like he was for the Chicago Bulls.

New York Knicks president Phil Jackson did not stop after acquiring Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. The former Los Angeles Lakers head coach also upgraded the roster with the additions of Brandon Jennings and Courtney Lee. Both guys should improve the back court.

With Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, the New York Knicks have a very solid foundation to build around. Adding the likes of Derrick Rose, Brandon Jennings, Courtney Lee, and Joakim Noah gives the team a chance to finally make it back to the NBA Finals, something that the franchise has not done in three seasons.

While the moves look tremendous on paper, Derrick Rose will receive some ridicule for comparing the New York Knicks to the Golden State Warriors. Many consider the Warriors to be on a much higher level than any other team in the NBA. That is why they are the favorites to win the championship for the second time in the past there seasons.

With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green as their core, the Golden State Warriors have made history. Not only did they win an NBA Championship, the trio was also able to win 73 games in a season, which is a record in the National Basketball Association. Adding Kevin Durant, one of the best basketball players on the planet, seems almost unfair to many.

To many, the New York Knicks are not even the best team in the Eastern Conference. That distinction belongs to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the reigning NBA Champions. Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, and Kevin Love are considered the team to beat in that conference.

The difference between confidence and cockiness is usually defined by the results. Derrick Rose will need to deliver results to prevent people from constantly ridiculing him now.
