Keshia Knight Pulliam Is Pregnant: ‘Cosby Show’ Star Expecting First Child With Ed Hartwell
Keisha Pulliam and Ed Hartwell are having a baby! On Sunday night, Pulliam revealed she and former NFL star husband are expecting their first child together, according to New York Daily News. Keisha, 37, posted the news via a cute Instagram post. The adorable photo was taken at a Sunday family dinner, which transformed into a surprise baby shower. Several of Keisha’s guests shared photos of the Sunday celebration.
“Surprise!! We have a new addition coming soon.”
The actress shared posed with a frosted pink cupcake, confirming a baby girl will be here soon. Keisha’s friend Renee also shared the great news.
“It’s A Girl!!!…My Peaches is gonna be a Mommy!! Love you @keshiaknightpulliam and congrats to you and @edhartwell on your baby girl!!! I’m so happy for you!!!”
Keisha Pulliam, 37, is most recognized for her role as the adorable Rudy Huxtable on the Cosby Show. Pulliam was an Emmy nominee at the age of 6. The actress still holds the record for being the youngest person nominated for an Emmy. Pulliam’s mentor, Bill Cosby was under fire after a long list of women accused Cosby sexual assault. Pulliam sat with the TODAY Show to discuss her experience on the Cosby Show.
“It was an amazing experience… I absolutely enjoyed my time there. [The cast members were] definitely like a second family. And I was blessed to work for eight years on an amazing show with a cast and crew who were amazing to be around and I enjoyed.”
Pulliam had nothing but kind words to say about Bill Cosby and the legacy he left behind on television.
“You know, it’s an unfortunate situation… And it’s kind of still the same for me, because that was never my experience with him. And I actually had the amazing opportunity to interview him for my podcast, ‘Kandidly Keshia’ — [it] was the first podcast that I did — and share with people the man who I grew up with, the man who I know. ‘Cause that just wasn’t how I ever experienced him.”
More recently, Pulliam starred in Tyler Perry‘s House of Payne. “Rudy Huxtable” grew up right before our eyes. This fact was made apparent years later when she played rapper Chingy’s love interest in his music video, “One Call Away.” Many realized Rudy Huxtable was all grown up.
Keisha And Hartwell’s Brief Engagement
Keisha announced her engagement to Ed Hartwell last year via Instagram. The couple were engaged in December, 2015. “Happy to spend not only my new year but my life with this guy!!!” Knight Pulliam wrote in an Instagram post, “#BlessedBeyondMeasure.”
This is Keisha’s first marriage and Hartwell’s second marriage. Hartwell shares 9-year-old son Edgerton Hartwell Jr. with ex-wife Lisa Wu. The couple split in 2011. Hartwell also appeared in the first two seasons of TheReal Housewives of Atlanta along with his ex wife, Lisa Wu.
According to ABC News, Keisha was super happy with her wedding ring. Keisha spoke on her podcast, ‘Kandidly Keisha’, to Ed Hartwell, “Babe, you killed it with my ring,” she told her husband.
Keisha And Ed Hartwell’s Surprise Wedding Ceremony On New Year’s Eve
Pulliam and Hartwell exchanged vows in their living room of their Atlanta, Georgia home. Keisha surprised friends and family, who assumed they were attending a New Year’s Eve party. Keisha explains, “[They] had no clue they were coming to a wedding. They thought they were coming to a New Year’s party.”
Ordained minister Raymond Coleman officiated the ceremony and shared his thoughts on the wedding ceremony.
“It was one of the most beautiful ceremonies that I had the opportunity to officiate … And I mean that in terms of the energy that was emitted. There was so much love in that room that it was phenomenal.”
Keisha said great things about her special wedding day.
“Both [of] our dreams came true that day. We have an amazing time together.”
