Tom Cruise may be 54-years-old, but he still looks to be in the same shape as he did from the ’80s hit Top Gun. That is why he’s still able to do so many action movies, and keep on looking good doing them, too. His latest is from the Universal Monster Universe and it’s a new version of The Mummy that is sure to be better than some of the last versions of it. It’s still filming, but fans can get a good look at Cruise and Annabelle Wallis from these recently released set pics.
The Universal Monster Universe is the franchise that the studio hopes can really compete with the Marvel world of films, and DC Comics as well. Things are really getting moving with the reboot of The Mummy, and Tom Cruise is lending a lot of star power to the film to help bring it the attention it deserves.

Pictures have emerged from the set and they feature Cruise and co-star Annabelle Wallis in true action, and that should not be unexpected. As in usual fashion, Cruise appears to be in full sprint and that continues his trend of running in every single film he’s ever starred in.
Entertainment Weekly has a few more pics from the set and it shows the stars of The Mummy doing their stretching before the shoot.
The excitement is truly growing for The Mummy as more and more information keeps coming from the set of the film. About a week ago, the first look at actress Sofia Boutella as the creature herself was shown and she looks quite amazing.

ComingSoon.net has a lot more photos of Boutella in the frightening role and you can see a lot more of her here.
Cruise will star alongside Annabelle Wallis, Sofia Boutella, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe. Well actually, Crowe is still in talks to star in the film as Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, but that’s been ongoing for a few months now. He reportedly had signed on the dotted line about a month or so ago, but it appears that everything is not yet finalized.
While those pics are incredibly awesome and show that The Mummy is going to bring a lot of action to the table, Tom Cruise always has time for his fans. Well, that is if Chris Rock is to be considered a fan and not an equal.
The two ran into one another in London while Cruise was filming The Mummy and decided to get a star-studded photo together.
For those waiting for the official theatrical release of The Mummy, the time is really drawing near and in quick fashion. It is now less than a year until it creeps into theaters on June 9, 2017, and it’s going to be action-packed.
The mummy monster first arrived on the scene in 1932, but it has seen a number of remakes and reboots over the years. The most recent being the trilogy starring Brendan Fraser which got mixed reviews through all three films.
The Mummy is something that Universal truly hopes is going to get them in the race of gigantic movie franchises much like that of the comic book world. The Universal Monster Universe is their answer to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, but in a different fashion, of course. Having Tom Cruise on board is something that will help add star power and credibility to a franchise that needs some new life but one that could be really successful.
