Katy Perry, Taylor Swift Battle It Out With Their Growing Net Worth

Katy Perry’s feud with Taylor Swift is not settling down anytime soon. Just days after she underhandedly slammed her pop archenemy once again Twitter, she took Taylor down on the music charts.

Of course, Taylor Swift, 26, is not releasing any music right now. She’s still riding off the success of her 2014 album, 1989. Swift has also admitted in various interviews that she’s on an extended hiatus from making music. According to The Toronto Star, Perry’s new single “Rise” is already receiving a boost from her feud with Swift. The pop star released her surprise Olympic anthem on Friday morning, July 15.

The song was produced by Taylor’s Swedish producer Max Martin, who worked on most of her hit songs on her latest album. “Rise” is not a new single from Katy’s album. In fact, it’s the theme song for the U.S. Olympic team. The lyrics in the song prove that Katy is back with a vengeance and doesn’t want anyone to forget that she’s still one of the hottest pop stars in the industry.

She’s heard singing on the song, “When you think the final nail is in, think again; don’t be surprised, I will still rise.”

Britney Spears also attempted her third or fourth comeback on Friday. She released her new hit single “Make Me,” featuring rapper G-Eazy. Even though she was riding high at No. 1, Perry took over the spot and has been sitting pretty ever since. It also looks like Perry’s net worth is on the rise as well. She’s been competing with her arch rival when it comes to the music charts and their net worth.

According to EarntheNecklace.com, Katy Perry’s net worth has grown thanks to her popular Prismatic World Tour, in which she performed over 124 shows in over 27 countries. Katy has quickly become America’s biggest pop star, beating out Taylor, Rihanna, and Miley Cyrus, combined, according to the recent report. Her reported net worth for 2016 is $204 million, but a Forbes report previously revealed that she only earned $125 million.

But it looks like she couldn’t beat out Swift completely. The blonde singer’s net worth is also on the rise, according to Hollywood Take. Swift was just named the highest-earning celebrity for the year of 2016 by Forbes. The outlet just released its annual list of the world’s highest-paid celebrities, and Swift is currently sitting at No. 1 for earning $170 million from June, 2015, to June, 2016, from her successful 1989 World Tour, which grossed a quarter of a billion dollars worldwide. Swift has also earned money from her endorsement deals with Apple Music, Diet Coke, and Keds.

Katy Perry was previously named as the highest-earning musician in 2015 by earning $135 million from her world tour. Perry has dramatically fallen down to the No. 63 spot this year with a meager $41 million. Swift’s earnings in 2016 have helped boost her reported $200 million net worth. She has been making use of that money she’s earned by renovating her New York City apartment. According to Page Six, Swift is spending $535,000 to update her sixth-floor apartment and penthouse suite.

Even though the singer has been spending a lot of time with new boyfriend, Tom Hiddleston, in Rhode Island and Australia, she rented out a $40,000-per-month rental that’s close to her other pad. This modest five-bedroom rental includes a two-story patio, private garage, swimming pool, and fitness room.

Meanwhile, Katy has had her eye on a Roman Catholic convent in Las Vegas that’s previously owned by a group of nuns and an archdiocese. She’s been in an ongoing battle with the nuns who won’t allow Perry to purchase it because of her sexualized image.

Katy was hoping to purchase the $14.5 million home as a private residence for herself and her parents, Mary Perry and Keith Hudson.
