Ben Affleck And Jennifer Garner Put Divorce On Hold, How ‘Things Changed’ Over The Past Year

It’s been over a year since Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner announced their divorce, yet they still haven’t finalized the split.

Instead, Us Weekly reports that the stars are trying to work out their marriage and remain together. What changes led to their decision to reconcile?

An inside source told the outlet that Garner planned on finalizing the divorce as recently as a few weeks ago. However, something changed in the interim and talks of divorce are now off the table.

The couple’s divorce has been shrouded in mystery ever since the beginning. Not only have they remained together, but Affleck still lives in a guest bedroom in their massive L.A. mansion.

At the same time, the family is frequently seen on public outings, spend the holidays together, and go on out-of-the-country vacations.

The united front they’ve put on for the public led to speculation that they aren’t ready to split up just yet.

According to NY Daily News, their decision to remain together after the divorce was for the benefit of their children.

“Jen seems to still be in love with Ben but doesn’t allow her mind to go there,” the source explained. “She just focuses on the kids.”

As far as Affleck is concerned, he wants to try his best to make things right with Garner and salvage their marriage.

“If it was up to Ben, they would be together,” the source shared. “He feels like he can’t live without Jen.”

That being said, a slow divorce may have been the plan since the start. After all, taking time on the divorce offers a better transition period for their kids.

“They were never in a rush to file. This was always the plan,” the source added.

Although a reunion seems near, Garner has some big issues to deal with before she takes Ben Affleck back. Considering the nature of their breakup, it will be hard for Garner to forgive.

Affleck and Garner split amidst rumors that he cheated on her with their children’s nanny, Christine Ouzounian. Garner admitted to the affair this past spring, though she stated that it happened after she broke up with the Batman v Superman star.

Either way, Affleck needs to clean up his ways before he gets back with his Pearl Harbor co-star.

The couple’s three children include Violet, 10, Seraphina, 7, and Samuel, 4.

Garner was rumored to be pregnant with their fourth child, though these reports have yet to be verified.

Meanwhile, Affleck joined Garner and their children on a recent trip to Venice, Italy. They also toured France this spring. Affleck and Garner were spotted eating lunch at a bistro in Paris.

These sightings sparked rumors that Affleck and Garner are working on their marriage instead of going through with the divorce. Based on their interactions in public, it appears as though Garner and Affleck still enjoy each other’s company.

Neither party has officially commented on a possible reconciliation.

According to Metro, the pair owns four properties all together. They have houses in L.A., Montana, New York, the Bahamas, and Georgia.

Their large estates and multi-million dollar fortunes could be another reason why the divorce is taking so long. By the looks of things, the stars are willing to work out their differences and forgo a messy settlement.

In the end, fans will have to wait and see what becomes of Affleck’s marriage. Hopefully, the couple comes forward soon and reveals if they are getting back together or going through with the divorce.

In the meantime, Affleck is currently busy filming for his next movie, Justice League, which is currently in production overseas.
