Ronda Rousey Ready To Fight Amanda Nunes In Reebok Commercial

Ronda Rousey striking her pose in the latest Reebok commercial, giving fair warning to all her rivals. While there has been rumors that the former UFC bantamweight champion threw in the towel for good, it looks like she is ready to fight Amanda Nunes for the belt in Reebok commercial.

After losing to Holly Holm, Ronda Rousey disappeared from the public eye. She had so many movies, magazine covers and commercials under her belt that this loss was detrimental to the public image that she built for herself. After a year of being silent, Ronda Rousey came back with a bang with this ad, in which “Rousey is seen removing the trappings of a Hollywood career, getting back into athletic gear and talking about ‘redemption’,” according to the Washington Post.

“Perfect never gets truly tested,” Ronda speaks in the commercial. “Perfect never gets to silence its critics. Perfect never gets a shot at redemption. So, yeah — I’m fine with not being perfect.”

The hashtag that is coming out of this campaign is #PerfectNever, which seeks to highlight Ronda’s comeback to the Octagon and her fight to regain glory.

The person she will be facing in the next fight will be Amanda Nunes, the current reigning UFC bantamweight champion. Amanda Nunes “defeated Miesha Tate at Saturday’s UFC 200 in the latter’s first title defense,” which was a shocker to UFC fans all over the nation.

She is the first female Brazilian champion and made her UFC debut in 2013, just when Ronda Rousey was heating up.

I feel amazing,” Amanda said according to ESPN. “Every fighter has something to change to evolve. I am this kind of fighter. I always have to work to try to make things happen in my life. Everybody knows that I respect Miesha a lot, but I’m the new champion.”

There is a sense of respect between the fighters, which is not always the case.

“We knew that she was a fast starter,” Miesha Tate, who lost her championship belt to her, said in the same article. “She caught me fair and square. This is what I have been saying about Amanda. She’s a dangerous fighter. I got careless, and it cost me really big.”

Ronda Rousey built up her career by making talking herself up and making brash comments and statements. It looks like Amanda Nunes’ approach is much less dramatic, but equally lethal.

So far, the former champion has been taking it easy in her home state of California, resting after her knee surgery.

“She had knee surgery one week ago,” reports Daily Mail. “And Ronda Rousey was indulging in some retail therapy as she was spotted in Santa Monica, California, this Wednesday. The 29-year-old mixed martial artist looked remarkably relaxed and happy as she checked out some clothing stores.”

But she has been facing pressures from UFC as well as her fans to schedule the next fight. When Dana White, the president of the organization, was asked about Ronda, he was quick to set a date for her.

“She feels great. Her spirits are great. She’s been training. If she fights, I’m hoping she fights December. If not, she would probably fight at the New Year’s show at beginning of [next] year,” he added.

But with the turn of events, with Amanda Nunes taking the UFC championship belt, it looks like Ronda’s team will have to start preparing for a different kind of fighter in the training.
