Cara Delevingne Gets Serious With St. Vincent As ‘Suicide Squad’ Release Date Nears

Cara Delevingne is usually very private about her relationship with St. Vincent, but this Fourth of July, the model/actress brought out all the PDA with her girlfriend for her friends and public to see. Looks like with her new movie, Suicide Squad‘s, release date creeping up, Cara Delevingne is making her relationship with St. Vincent more public.

“They’re one of the more low-key couples in their group of friends, and tend to refrain from flaunting their love around in front of others,” reports Daily Mail. “But Cara Delevingne and her girlfriend St. Vincent couldn’t help but share a sweet while taking a moment for themselves during Taylor Swift’s star-studded Independence Day party in Rhode Island on Tuesday. The British model-turned-actress, 23, was seen enjoying the sunshine on the balcony of Taylor’s home with her long-term partner, the two of them snuggling up together.”

Cara Delevingne was part of Taylor Swift’s famous squad for the Fourth of July, which means that she has a lot of enviable snaps on her Instagram. To commemorate a very traditional American holiday, the British actress spent the long weekend with her best pals: Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, Taylor Swift, as well as her girlfriend, St. Vincent.

As the party wound down, the Suicide Squad actress found herself in the arms of her girlfriend.

“The Paper Towns actress wrapped her arms around her 33-year-old girlfriend as she stood behind her, cradling her protectively and seemingly whispering something into her ear,” the article revealed. “U.S. singer St. Vincent — real name Annie Clark — returned the favour and scooped her younger girlfriend up for a hug, the two happily packing on the PDA and showing that their romance is still going strong.”

With the release date of Suicide Squad coming up, Cara Delevingne may be wondering about her red carpet date situation. While the actress has traditionally turned up at premieres alone, this August, she might be toying with the idea of inviting her girlfriend.

Suicide Squad is a big deal for the British model-turned-actress, as she is looking to do more and more movies. Since modeling triggered depression and some negative thoughts in her, she has turned away from the brutally image-focused industry.

“Can we just set the record straight,” Cara tweeted this past spring. “I never said I was quitting modeling. I do not blame the fashion industry for anything. I suffer from depression and was a model during a particularly rough patch of self hatred. I am so lucky for the work I get to do but I used to work to try and escape and just ended up completely exhausting myself.”

But it looks like taking on the role of the Enchantress in Suicide Squad does not necessarily sound like a walk in the park.

“The Enchantress side was more about finding that part of myself studying addiction, desperation and that void,” Cara said according to NME. “One of the first things David said was ‘Go to the forest, the country – hopefully under the full moon – naked and feel what that feels like.’ And I was ‘This is f**king awesome. OK, I’m going to do that.'”

Cara has been able to do more projects, thanks to the stability that her relationship with St. Vincent has created.

“I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I’m feeling so happy with who I am these days,” she said to Vogue. “And for those words to come out of my mouth is actually a miracle.”

Some publications reported this spring that the couple moved in together in Paris.

“The 23-year-old actress and her partner, 33, may have only been dating for a year but are reportedly keen to take their relationship to the next level by setting up home in Paris, France, while Cara shoots her new movie ‘Valerian,'” reports Mirror UK.

A source told the publication, “Their relationship has been very intense and things have moved along quickly but they feel they can face the pressure of moving in together.”
