Calvin Harris has finally dropped his new song, which has already been causing controversy this week. The Scottish DJ collaborated with John Newman on his new track “Ole.”

Calvin Harris, 32, reportedly released his new “cheating song” that’s assumed to be about Taylor Swift, according to Vulture. However, it’s not really a Harris song since it’s written and sung by John Newman himself. But, according to the report, Harris did have a hand in co-writing the tune.

TMZ was the first to report that the hitmaker was releasing a breakup song. It was to be written from Tom Hiddleston’s point-of-view and even referenced his famous Thor character, Loki, with the line, “Low-key you won’t tell none of your friends about me.”

Other lines in the song included, “I see online that you’ve begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend, being attentive, continue to pretend,” as well as, “You’ve hidden my name on your phone so you can call me to tell me you’ve been going through hell. Left him alone and you booked in a hotel.”

However, other sources claim that the song was written long before Swift and Harris broke up. Multiple sources told TMZ that the track was written well before the Met Gala, where Swift and Hiddleston first met and danced the night away together. If Harris does claim that the song is about his breakup with the singer, then he’s just trying to milk the attention, claims the source.

“People are just making assumptions to get attention for a song. There’s no way it could be about Tom,” a source close to Taylor told Us Weekly.

“It has nothing to do with Tom and Taylor,” a second insider told the outlet, saying that the song is a full-fledged John Newman track and that Calvin barely makes an appearance on it.

Despite the controversy, the new song dropped on late Thursday night, early Friday morning. As of right now, the song is only available on Spotify. As for the accompanying music video, it hasn’t been released as of yet. If you have a Spotify account, you can listen to the track below.

The song has already sparked interest on social media due to its lyrics and its timing. It also kind of sounds like a slower version of “Rude” by Magic. Many fans still believe that this was Harris’ way to get back at his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend.

Newman’s debut album, Tribute, hit No. 1 in the U.K. in 2013, according to Billboard. His follow-up, Revolve, hit No. 3. Newman and Harris previously collaborated on their song “Blame,” which dropped as a single from Harris’ fourth album, Motion.

Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, whose real name is Adam Wiles, split up on June 1 after 15 months of dating. Just a week later, Swift was spotted kissing Hiddleston on a beach near her Rhode Island home. The couple have only been dating for three weeks, but they have already made their relationship official with various Instagram photos and trips to the U.K., Italy, and most recently, Australia.

It’s been rumored that Calvin was planning to write a breakup song on his upcoming fifth studio album. According to a previous report published by the Mirror, Calvin was planning to collaborate with either Kanye West or Rihanna on the unknown song. He’s been seen working in the studio as he tries to pen a song about love and loss, and he feels that “anything is possible” since their split.
