The internet has been going crazy at the sight of a photo of the Duchess of Cambridge walking alongside Prime Minister David Cameron. It looks like Princess Kate is floating on air!
The Daily Mail showed the image that makes Kate Middleton look like she is floating on air is from the July 1 100-year anniversary of the Battle of the Somme in Thiepval, France. At this solemn event, she is walking alongside the soon-to-be-exiting Prime Minister. She is wearing her black, high-heeled pumps and walking on the gravel, but there is a gap between her royal shoes and the ground. She looks temporarily suspended in air. The way the photo was taken, by photographer Chris Radburn, the 34-year-old looks like she is floating on air!
The internet has been going wild speculating how Kate could look like she has defied gravity.
The gap between the soles of Kate’s sleek and conservative pumps and the ground is an optical illusion partly because the point of the front of her shoes are not touching the ground and the sole of her shoe is the same color as the gravel she is walking on. In addition, the way David Cameron’s feet are positioned ahead of Kate’s, makes it appear that the Duchess of Cambridge has defied gravity! She looks like she is floating on air.
As always, the Duchess of Cambridge looks fantastic! She is wearing a nude lace, peplum dress with Peter Pan collar, created by her favorite designer Jenny Packham. The little details of her gorgeous dress includes Sophie Hallette lace in nude and black. The nude is overlaid, with the black underlaid into a striking pattern. She completes her stylish look with a black hat and clutch and those magical pointy black pumps.
For many, just being a royal princess would make them feel like they were walking on clouds, so perhaps fans Kate Middleton are not so terribly surprised to see her appear to be levitating. The Duchess of Cambridge seems to always do the impossible. Catherine has managed to always look picture perfect at every occasion. Whether she is Royal Ascot, or with her adorable two children, George and Charlotte, Princess Kate always looks like she is other-worldly. She is always an etherial picture of grace whether alone or with her best friend and husband, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, by her side.
Kate has had a very hectic schedule of late, with a mix of fun and some solemn occasions. She and William left their children home and visited India and Bhutan. In June, the Queen turned 90 and there was quite a royal celebration. A few weeks ago, there was her first official visit to Royal Ascot along with Prince William.
This most recent event was a very somber affair as this was the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Memorial, to commemorate the 70,000 British and Commonwealth soldiers with no known graves. This was the bloodiest day in all of British military history. The site, near the French village of La Boiselle, is the historic battle site from WWI. In the former trenches, cornflowers now grow, a sort of natural tribute to the sacrifice of the thousands of soldiers.
William, Kate and Harry attended two days of ceremonies in France, while the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh honored the dead at a service at Westminster Abbey. The Queen paid an overnight tribute at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.
Did you see the photo of Kate Middleton? Do you think she looks like she is floating on air? Can you see the optical illusion that makes it look like Kate is levitating?
