Tori Spelling Debuts Surprising New Hair After 20 Years As A Blonde: See The Pics

Tori Spelling may know that blondes have more fun, but she’s willing to give another hair color a try. The 43-year-old True Tori star posted a black and white Instagram photo of herself posing with colorist Guy Tang, challenging fans to guess what color she dyed her hair. It was obvious from the teaser photo that Spelling didn’t go for a dark color, but until she posted the “after” reveal, fans were in the dark about what hue her hair actually was.

“Guess what color I did to my hair?” Tori captioned her “before” shot. “After 20 + years as a #blonde I am so excited I am doing something different! Thank you @guy_tang for a fun day with a new look for the summer!”

Tori then posted her “after” photo, showing that she went with a pink fade for her new summertime ‘do. Spelling wrote that Tang turned “a bored blonde into a beautiful rose.”

Tori Spelling has been a devoted blonde for more than 20 years, only briefly toying with a brunette hair color more than two decades ago. But it’s clear that she is loving her new light pink locks, as she has posted several photos showcasing her new look.

Tori’s hairstylist told E! News that he had fun working with the True Tori star on her new color and that they talked it over before he went for the pink dye.

“We both agreed that pastel rose will be great on her skin tone for summer,” Tang told E! News. “She’s mostly been blonde her whole life so it’s nice to do some change. I took about six hours, but it didn’t feel like it because we had so much fun. As it fades it will transition to her blonde.”

Of course, Tori Spelling has made headlines for hair color in the past — just not hers. Last year, Spelling was under fire after she posted photos of her two older kids, Liam and Stella, that showed them with obviously dyed hair. Stella’s hair was bleached light blonde with blue streaks in it while Liam’s was a neon yellow-green shade. After critics blasted Spelling for coloring her kids’ hair, the mom of four told People Now that it was just something fun her 7-year-old daughter wanted to do over the summer.

“It was a choice I made that I made with my daughter,” Spelling told People. “That was a personal choice. It was something she wanted to do. It was something I agreed to do with her during the summer break.”

Tori Spelling went on to say that while the dye job seemed controversial, she firmly believes that the more parents tell children they can’t do something, the more curious they will become. Tori decided to just let her daughter do what she wanted with her hair to nip the curiosity in the bud now instead of later.

“Stella did it,” Spelling explained. “She was 7 and she got it out of her system.”

Tori Spelling is not the only celebrity who has gone pink this year. Actress/singer Hilary Duff dyed her hair pastel pink earlier this year, while Voice star Adam Levine was compared to kiddie cartoon character Strawberry Shortcake and later dubbed a “Treasure Troll” by pal Blake Shelton after he colored his hair bright pink in March. In addition, former Disney stars Bella Thorne and Ashley Tisdale also jumped on the pink bandwagon this year. Clearly, it’s a hot hair trend that’s not going away anytime soon.
