Carrie Ann Inaba Ends Engagement With Fiance Jesse Sloan

Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba and her fiance Jesse Sloan have reportedly decided to break off their engagement.

According to People magazine, Inaba, 44, confirmed the news of the split late Monday through a statement by her rep which read:

“They decided early in the summer to break off their engagement and have remained friends.”

No further details were offered, and there is little speculation so far on the cause of the relationship’s demise.

Access Hollywood reports that Carrie and Jesse first met through the online dating service eHarmony and were famously engaged in March 2011 during an episode of Live! With Regis and Kelly. At the time, Inaba was acting as guest co-host — filling in for Kelly Ripa — on the show when Sloan, 44, made a surprise appearance on stage to pop the question.

“I’ve struggled to find the words to express what you mean to me,” he said while getting down on one knee in front of the live studio audience. “You’re an inspiration, you’re beautiful, you’re wonderful, you’re everything to me. Will you marry me?”

After saying yes and preparing to say “I do,” Inaba shared the details about her special wedding plans:

“We want to get married by the ocean because it has such spiritual meaning. It’s so vast and yet it unites everyone,” said Carrie Ann. “We want everybody to get their feet wet in the water after we say our vows.”

Inaba will be back forDancing With the Stars 15th season, which kicks off September 24 on ABC.
