Katie Holmes Makes A Stunning Jackie O In Wedding Scene, Father’s Day Gesture Fueled By Suri’s Disappointment In Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes bears a striking resemblance to a certain historical figure, and it just happens to be one that she is currently playing for a new television role. In a white wedding dress, Katie Holmes was photographed on the set of the upcoming TV mini-series The Kennedys: After Camelot.

According to People magazine, Katie Holmes bears a striking resemblance to the iconic first lady Jacqueline Kennedy.

This is not the first time that Tom Cruise’s ex-wife has portrayed Jacqueline Kennedy, as she also tackled the difficult role in The Kennedys back in 2011. In the photos taken on set, Holmes is seen alongside actor and co-star Alexander Siddig, who will be playing the role of Jackie O’s second husband and Greek shipping mogul Aristotle Onassis, as they reenact one of the biggest moments in the life of the couple.

Historical pictures from the set of the 1968 wedding reveal an uncannily striking resemblance between Katie Holmes and Jackie Onassis, further exemplified by the stunning replica wedding dress that was created specifically for the new show. In the photos, Holmes was seen wearing an almost exact replica of Jackie O’s famous Valentino wedding dress. Also in attendance in the wedding party was Katie Holmes’ daughter, Suri Cruise.

Reelz CEO Stan E. Hubbard spoke very highly of Katie’s commitment to the character and how perfect she is for the role.

“Katie is brave, committed and perfect for this role. She is a strong, talented woman who understands how special and respected Jackie Kennedy, and then Jackie Onassis, was as an international icon.”

The uncanny resemblance that Katie has to the historical figure would not be as convincing if it were not for Katie’s natural classic beauty. The Miss Meadows actress recently showed off her new bob haircut on Instagram.

According to Bustle, Katie Holmes has not traditionally been one to go for major beauty transformations, mainly because she has never really needed to.

Although it was later revealed to be a wig, the bob cut looked great on Katie. The actress was wearing the wig as part of her role in The Kennedys: After Camelot.

Katie Holmes also proved herself to be a great mother to her daughter, as she took Suri out for Father’s Day. According to International Business Times, Katie Holmes took Suri out for lunch without her ex-husband Tom Cruise.

Holmes and Suri spent Father’s Day out for lunch with some friends at a pizza place in East Hampton.

Tom Cruise was also not present during his daughter’s birthday celebration in April, as he was apparently busy filming for his upcoming film The Mummy.

During their Father’s Day outing, Holmes and Suri were spotted with a woman and two other children. Suri and her friends were playing, causing a ruckus around the pizza place, but the other customers didn’t seem to mind as they could see that the children were enjoying themselves. Katie Holmes and her daughter were chatting with other people in the restaurant, as it seemed that the crowd was not aware of the mother and daughter’s celebrity status.

On their way out, Holmes and Suri said goodbye to their new friends and the staff of the restaurant. Katie Holmes’ Father’s Day gesture may have been founded in the rumor that Suri was heartbroken that her father was not being able to make it to her birthday. It was reported that Holmes planned a weekend of fun to celebrate before Suri’s actual birthday on Monday, April 18.

Katie Holmes’ daughter reportedly broke down when her grandmother asked her if she had received everything she wished for on her special day.
